Spannabis Bilbao 2027: Dates, tickets and the program

Spannabis has a concrete place on the 2027 calendar: March 12–14 at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The organizer is building the edition around an exhibition floor, music, the World Cannabis Conference, and the Spannabis Champions Cup. For an international visitor, those parts need to be planned together.

The useful details go beyond the dates. Ticket types have different re-entry rules, the conference sits within the event setting, and the venue is in Barakaldo. A separate business forum is advertised for the preceding day. Knowing those distinctions early can prevent a poorly matched itinerary.

The dates and location to put on the calendar

The official Spannabis Bilbao page identifies the 24th edition for Friday through Sunday, March 12–14, 2027. It places the fair in Pavilion 1 at Bilbao Exhibition Centre, commonly called BEC. The venue is in Barakaldo, within the wider Bilbao area.

The organizer lists Friday and Saturday hours as 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with Sunday running from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. These are local venue times. Use the shorter Sunday schedule when deciding whether the final day can accommodate a full round of meetings.

The official visitor information identifies Ansio station on Metro Line 2 as an access point for the fairgrounds. That is useful location context when comparing places to stay. It does not establish a future transit timetable or the exact journey time from a particular hotel.

Before committing to travel, check the organizer’s current dates and the actual transport service you intend to use. The event has published its core framework, but a calendar listing cannot guarantee a flight, room, or connection. Keep those bookings tied to their own terms.

Choose a ticket around the day you want

Current advance prices are €23 for one day and €52 for three days. The organizer lists door prices of €25 and €55 respectively, with VAT included. A VIP pass is advertised at €85. Treat these as the currently published offers and confirm the final selection before purchasing.

The re-entry rule may matter as much as the price. A one-day ticket permits a single entry, while the three-day pass permits entry and exit. Anyone planning an outside meeting, a break away from the grounds, or multiple arrivals should understand that difference before choosing.

For three separate advance day tickets, the listed base total would be €69. The published three-day price is €17 lower. Two advance day tickets total €46, below the three-day price, but they do not provide the same re-entry arrangement. That is a genuine planning tradeoff.

The VIP description names lounge access, complimentary nonalcoholic drinks, bar service, and a gift collected with the wristband. Do not assume that this also provides judging access, exhibitor credentials, or admission to every separately advertised business activity. Similar labels can refer to different products.

The conference gives the floor a second purpose

The World Cannabis Conference page schedules its 16th edition alongside Spannabis on March 12–14. The organizer describes thematic forums and individual presentations involving scientific, medical, political, and industry perspectives. It places the conference room within the Spannabis pavilion.

That combination can make the event useful for different kinds of visitors. An exhibition floor helps people encounter companies and equipment. A conference can create time for questions that do not fit a short booth conversation. The two formats deserve separate space in a daily plan.

The current overview establishes the conference’s themes and setting, rather than a complete named 2027 speaker timetable. Avoid treating a prior edition’s lineup as the next edition’s program. Build an initial schedule around the dates, then refine it when specific sessions are published.

High Rise’s MJ Unpacked event profile considers another industry gathering through the purpose of attending. That same question belongs here. Decide whether the priority is education, existing relationships, new introductions, or a broader view of the market before filling every hour.

The cup is part of the program, with its own rules

Spannabis advertises the 21st edition of its Bilbao Champions Cup alongside the fair. The organizer says the competition will use VIP juries in its categories. Its listed awards ceremony is Friday, March 12, 2027, at 7 p.m. in the conference area.

That is a program commitment, not a published result. There are no 2027 winners to rank before the competition takes place. It also does not mean every attendee becomes a judge. The competition’s entry and judging arrangements need to be read separately from general admission.

For a visitor interested in the ceremony, Friday requires a different plan from a day spent solely on the exhibition floor. Leave time to reach the conference area rather than assuming an award presentation is something to catch between unrelated appointments.

Our Mary Jane Berlin feature explores another European event combining commercial activity with culture. The comparison is useful at the level of format. Each organizer’s access rules, program, and local setting still need to stand on their own.

Keep the business forum separate

The Spannabis homepage also advertises a business program for March 11, 2027, in the BEC VIP room. It describes conferences, networking, and a B2B area, with separate links for tickets, commercial tables, and sponsorship. That date is the day before the three-day fair begins.

For a company planning a trip, the additional day may be relevant. It should not be silently folded into a Friday-through-Sunday ticket assumption. Check the specific forum offer and admission terms before assigning meetings or promising colleagues access.

The same distinction applies to exhibitor and professional credentials. General attendance, a commercial table, an exhibition stand, and press access are different relationships with an organizer. A badge suitable for one purpose should not be assumed to cover the others.

A practical team itinerary can therefore separate three blocks: the business forum if independently booked, the public fair, and the conference or cup sessions of interest. That structure makes commitments visible and helps avoid scheduling two different event functions into the same hour.

The venue rules deserve an early read

Music is another part of the organizer’s stated format, with its overview naming styles including reggae, dub, hip-hop, soul, and electronic music. That describes the programming approach, not a confirmed artist list for every day. Wait for the named performance schedule before planning around a particular act.

The visitor page also links a protocol addressing sexist violence and harassment. Its stated purpose includes prevention, detection, and response for attendees, exhibitors, artists, and event staff. Anyone coordinating a group should know where the organizer publishes that information and consult the actual protocol for procedures, rather than relying on an informal summary.

For photographers and media teams, the listed drone restriction is a concrete production constraint. The organizer also publishes separate press-accreditation information. Treat a general admission ticket and a planned media assignment as different planning questions, and resolve access with the event before promising coverage from restricted areas.

The official visitor rules identify the event as 18+. They prohibit smoking inside the exhibition venue. They also prohibit bringing alcohol, glass containers, pets, and drones, while allowing food and nonalcoholic drinks subject to the stated container restrictions.

The organizer says tickets are not exchangeable or refundable except if the event is canceled. That condition belongs in the travel decision, alongside accommodation and transport terms. Read the current ticket offer in full before paying, especially when planning several months ahead.

Use High Rise’s cannabis events calendar to compare dates with other gatherings, then return to the organizer for the final details. The strongest reason to attend should be specific enough to survive a crowded schedule: the people, program, or market perspective that matters to you.

Spannabis Bilbao already provides enough structure for an informed first plan. Mark March 12–14, distinguish the March 11 business program, compare re-entry rights, and leave room for the conference schedule. The next useful step is choosing the purpose of the trip before choosing how many days to attend.
