Aeriz is an aeroponic cannabis cultivator founded in Illinois in 2014 by David Thomas. Thomas founded Aeriz around the premise that commercial aeroponics could produce cannabis at scale while using less water and grow medium. The company now describes itself as the largest aeroponic cannabis cultivator in the world. How aeroponic cultivation works
Plants begin in net pots supported by recyclable clay pebbles. The roots extend below the pots into enclosed tables, where a measured water-and-nutrient solution is misted at set intervals and recirculated. Aeriz says this closed loop uses 95 percent less water than soil cultivation and 30 percent less than hydroponics.
For the final seven to ten days, the company says it circulates only water. Its site reports finished yields testing at zero parts per million for residual nutrients. Those are company-published process claims, not a substitute for the compliance test results on a specific batch.
Product catalog
The current range includes flower; live-rosin badder; live-resin budder, sugar and diamonds-and-sauce; live-rosin, live-flower, full-spectrum and Element vape cartridges; Full Spectrum Hash Oil; standard and FSHO-infused pre-rolls; full-spectrum hash Drops; and chocolate truffles.
Element is the value cart and combines cannabis-derived terpenes with refined distillate. That makes it materially different from the live-rosin and live-flower lines. The labels “full spectrum,” “live resin,” “live rosin” and “distillate” describe different inputs and processes, so they should not be collapsed into one generic vape category.
Sustainability program
Aeriz attributes its lower resource use to the soil-free, recirculating system. Its sustainability page also documents a Pachama carbon-credit partnership, more than 8,000 tonnes offset in 2022, and packaging designed to be recyclable, reusable, sustainably sourced or produced with wind power. Some figures on the same page are snapshots from different periods, so they should be read with their dates rather than treated as lifetime totals.

Aeriz publishes an unusually detailed awards ledger.
