Bear Humboldt, founded as Bear Extraction House, is a cannabis extraction company in Arcata, California, operating from 5550 West End Road under license C11-0001975-LIC. It produces concentrates under two house brands, URSA Extracts and WOX Extracts, and supplies bulk oil to the wider California market.
Founders and origin
Casey Eliason and Taylor Lefevre started the company years before California legalized adult-use cannabis, with the aim of building a physical hub in Humboldt County where local cultivators and manufacturers could advance their crafts together. The company states its values as innovation, authenticity and excellence, and defines that authenticity narrowly: never any additives, always single strain, always full spectrum.
URSA Extracts and WOX Extracts
URSA Extracts is built around single-strain whole flower. WOX Extracts works from single-strain, small-batch, fresh-frozen cannabis. Between them the house produces live resin, THCa diamonds, live badder, high-terpene extract, live resin cartridges and liquid rosin cartridges, including the NOVA diamonds-and-terpenes cartridge line.
Batch data
URSA publishes a vault page for individual production batches. Each entry lists a batch identifier, total THC and total terpene percentages, dominant and rare terpenes, and a downloadable certificate of analysis. The Humboldt Jack Nova Diamonds batch, for one, publishes at 86.09 percent total THC and 12.67 percent terpenes, with terpinolene, nerolidol and beta-caryophyllene dominant.
Competition record
At the 2022 Emerald Cup Awards, URSA Extracts took first place in the live resin cartridge category with Liquid Diamond Sauce Humboldt Jack, and third place in the hydrocarbon liquid solvent concentrate category with Live Badder Modified Grapes.
Distribution
Bear Humboldt reaches consumers through licensed California dispensaries rather than its own retail stores, and runs a separate bulk menu for wholesale buyers. Strain availability on retail menus moves with the batch.
