Elixinol is a Colorado hemp CBD brand, founded in Boulder in 2014, that sells tinctures, capsules, gummies, topicals, liposomes and dog drops through its own US web store. On September 4, 2026, Ananda Health, Inc. completed its purchase of the US business from ASX-listed Elixinol Wellness for about A$465,000.
The catalog runs in three lanes: full-spectrum CBD, THC-free formulas and a small hemp-derived Delta-9 line. The whole store sits behind a 21+ age gate, and the company pitches 30 years of hemp heritage.
A Boulder start in 2014
Elixinol began in Boulder. US Manufacturing Report, writing in April 2020, named Paul Benhaim as co-founder of Elixinol USA and chairman of its Australian parent, Elixinol Global. Stockhead credited Benhaim with 25 years in the global hemp sector by 2018. Boulder also produced Keef Brands, founded there in 2010, while Elixinol took the hemp route out of the same town.
The early numbers moved fast. MJBizDaily reported in 2017 that Elixinol, founded in 2014, did about $2 million in sales in 2015 and roughly $4 million in 2016. General manager Gabriel Ettenson called the coming shakeout early. "A majority of companies … will be gone," he told MJBizDaily, and predicted the survivors would back their products with science.
Listing in Australia and scaling Colorado hemp
Elixinol Global began trading on the Australian Securities Exchange in January 2018, raising A$20 million at A$1 a share, according to Stockhead. The listed group ran three divisions at the time: Hemp Foods Australia, founded in 1999, the Colorado-based Elixinol LLC and an Australian cannabis venture. Benhaim was CEO and held 53% of the company.
The money went to supply. In April 2018, Elixinol signed a joint venture with Northern Colorado High Plains Producers covering 700 acres with leased water rights, built to double its growing capacity. New Cannabis Ventures logged an A$40 million raise in September 2018 and a placement of 12.8 million shares at A$3.90 in June 2019.
Westminster, Louisville and 1,700 CVS stores
By 2020 the US business ran from three Colorado sites. US Manufacturing Report placed its American base in Westminster, a processing and manufacturing plant in Louisville and a fulfillment warehouse in Broomfield. Tom Siciliano ran the business as CEO for the Americas, serving the United States and Latin America.
Retail was the headline. Siciliano said Elixinol sat in around 1,700 CVS stores and more than 400 Albertsons locations, with Safeway also carrying it. He put 2019 sales at "just south of $20 million" and counted 40 countries. The same report noted a USDA-certified organic tincture, certified through Colorado Cultivars and Pro-Cert.
Terpex, Colorado farms and batch COAs
Elixinol sources hemp from family farms in Colorado and labels its products Made in the USA. Its proprietary Terpex extraction process is built around avoiding petrochemical solvents, the company says, and the production chain runs from extraction through internal testing to third-party lab verification.
The paperwork is public. An ISO-certified independent lab tests the products, and Elixinol posts certificates of analysis on its site, organized by batch number. In March 2023 the company announced its certification by the U.S. Hemp Authority, which it described as a small group of CBD brands.
The 2026 catalog after the March rebrand
Elixinol rebranded in March 2026, and the product listings trace the reset. A 1,000mg THC-free tincture in spearmint went live on February 17, 2026, the same day the blog published a piece titled "CBD Without the THC." A 5,000mg full-spectrum tincture in pineapple followed on March 10, 2026.
The summer brought more formats. A full-spectrum gummy containing THC arrived in April 2026, a 1,000mg THC-free drop for dogs on July 1, 2026, and a 2,500mg liposome on August 7, 2026. An extra-strength full-spectrum capsule went live on August 24, 2026. Capsules, a topical gel and gift cards round out the shop.
The hemp-derived Delta-9 line is older. Delta-9 gummies have been listed since December 2022 and a Delta-9 tincture since August 2023. Leafly still hosts an Elixinol brand page with earlier items, including a CBD sports gel and a hemp extract vape pen.
Where the store ships
Elixinol sells direct and ships within the United States only. Delta-9 and THCV products do not ship to Alaska, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Virginia. Full-spectrum CBD products and the dog drops skip California, and nothing ships to Iowa. Customer service runs weekdays from 9am to 5pm Mountain time.
Who owns Elixinol after the Ananda Health deal
Cannabiz reported on September 2, 2026 that Elixinol Wellness had accepted a binding offer from Ananda Health for its US hemp business, announced with its half-year results. The sale completed on September 4, 2026. Ananda paid A$250,000 up front, released from escrow, with up to A$215,000 more in deferred and contingent payments, including a regulatory contingent payment and a revenue-based earn-out.
Elixinol Wellness agreed to provide customer service, operations and marketing support for up to six weeks after completion. The Melbourne-based parent said the divestment simplifies the group and cuts its exposure to the evolving US regulatory environment. It keeps its Australian food brands, The Healthy Chef, Hemp Foods Australia and Mt Elephant, plus Australian Primary Hemp and The Australian Superfood Co.
That leaves the Elixinol name in the United States with Ananda Health, and the Colorado brand's store live under its March 2026 rebrand.
