At a glance
Freddy’s Fuego is a family-run Washington cannabis producer founded in 2017 by Ben Davis and Tim Haggerty. Based near Poulsbo, it builds its flower catalog through in-house cultivation, breeding and large phenotype hunts, then extends selected genetics into pre-rolls, rosin, vapes and other formats.
Founders and Washington roots
Independent profiles identify Ben Davis as founder and owner and name Tim Haggerty as a co-founder. Northwest Leaf dates the company to 2017 and describes a Tier 3 producer/processor with a 10,000-square-foot canopy and roughly 40 employees at the time of its 2023 report. Those are dated operating figures, not current counts.
Flower-first philosophy
Davis describes genetics as the company’s starting point: the team hunts seed populations, breeds in-house and selects plants before scaling them. The pirate visual language is an homage to Washington’s underground cannabis culture, not evidence that products are outside the licensed system.
The Hunt
Freddy’s says it germinates more than 500 seeds annually for The Hunt and releases a smaller set of phenotypes for consumer scoring. Voters rate appearance, aroma and experience, and favorites can move into Freddy’s Finest or Flagship. The Hunt is a brand-run selection program, not an independent cannabis award.
Legacy, Flagship and Finest
Legacy is positioned as the accessible tier. Flagship carries proven phenotypes from prior hunts, while Freddy’s Finest showcases selections judged strongest for aroma, vigor, cannabinoid content, bag appeal and overall experience. These tiers explain internal curation, not a regulated quality grade.
Current flower and pre-rolls
The site lists flower in 3.5-, 7- and 28-gram units in Flagship, with smaller options in Finest. Current named strains include Dirty Sugah, Permanent Marker, Blue Slushie, Ethos Apex, Baby Yo-Duh, Fritter Glitter and Moonbow 112. Straight-flower, infused and multi-strain 7 Seas pre-roll packs broaden the lineup.
Rosin
Freddy’s Finest includes live rosin made from fresh-frozen flower through ice-water separation, freeze-drying and pressing, plus cured rosin made from cured flower. The site’s cured-rosin wording is unusual and should be checked against the specific package; live and cured starting material are not interchangeable.
Vapes and other products
Liquid Gold cartridges are described as distillate combined with strain-specific botanical terpenes, making them materially different from the rosin line. The site also lists topical or skincare items including The Nectar serum and a face wash. Marketing benefits should not be interpreted as medical or dermatological evidence.
Awards and recognition limits
No complete independent competition ledger was found in the brand site or reviewed profiles. “Winners of The Hunt” means the company’s own consumer-selection process, not a High Times or state competition. The documented achievement is the scale and continuity of its public pheno-hunting program, not an invented award count.
Where to buy. Freddy’s directs buyers to Washington retailers and warns that cannabis is unlawful outside the state. A historical page claimed more than 250 locations, but that count is not treated as current. Use the live locator and Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board records, then verify producer, batch and testing on the package.
