GRAV is a pipe company based in Austin, Texas, founded in 2004. It grew from a single all-glass gravity system into a broad catalog of borosilicate hand pipes, water pipes, bubblers, dab rigs, one-hitters, grinders, papers and storage, and now a cannabis beverage. The company shortened its name from Grav Labs to GRAV as the product family expanded.
Founders and leadership
David Daily founded GRAV in Austin in 2004 with Brandon Miranda and a team of glass artists, because they hated smoking out of two-liter bottles. Daily created and hand-built the original Gravitron in 2004, moving into glassmaking full time from a career in mortgage. Miranda, a childhood friend from Toronto, joined full time in 2019 and is now chief executive.
The original Gravitron
Daily designed the Gravitron as the first all-glass gravity bong, an alternative to improvised versions made from bottles and buckets. Early units were cut and assembled by hand and sold to head shops and at trade shows. The piece still has its own collection on the shop, with the Medium at $79.99 and the Large at $99.99.
The Taster
In 2007 Daily designed the Taster, an inexpensive borosilicate tube with a pinch bowl, after watching flower get passed around at trade shows. He gave them away at Austin City Limits; a distributor saw one and ordered fifty, and the company turned around within six months. The Taster is what took a one-product business into a wider line.
Signature design families
GRAV's best-known systems are the Gravitron, Helix, Upline and STAX. Helix was designed independently by glass artist William "BoxFan" Menzies and uses three air-intake holes to spin incoming smoke; GRAV partnered with him to manufacture and distribute it. Upline came out of a collaboration with glass artist Micah Evans, who became lead designer in summer 2016. STAX is an in-house modular system for building a custom water pipe.
Current catalog
The store covers bongs, gravity bongs, dab rigs, bubblers, hand pipes, one-hitters, papers and cones, grinders and dugouts, bowls, bangers and parts, and apparel. Glass is borosilicate, with joint sizes published per product: the Hourglass Pocket Bubbler, for example, is 4.5 inches tall with a 10mm female joint and a quarter-gram bowl at $44.99.
Cannabis Spirit
GRAV also sells Cannabis Spirit, a non-alcoholic spirit distilled from single-strain fresh cannabis flower and water and blended with hemp-derived Delta-9 THC, CBD and full-spectrum terpenes. It is labeled at 2mg per 25ml serving for Green, 10mg for Black and 50mg for Red, and is not sold to residents of Alaska, California, Idaho or Oregon.
Collaborations
The collaborations shelf has carried work with DGK, LRG through a Hustle Trees tee and Wobble Bubbler, the artist Savina Monet, and cartoonist Box Brown on a T-shirt and zine.

GRAV sells through its direct online store and through wholesale accounts, with free shipping over $50, a rewards program and discounts for teachers, medical workers, military and first responders.
