Guild Extracts is an Oakland, California concentrate brand built around molecular isolation, high-terpene extracts and small-batch hydrocarbon processing. It is a legacy operation, tracing back to California's Proposition 215 era, and its slogan — “Where Art Meets Science” — describes a catalog that sits between hash-making and laboratory refinement.
Founders and history
Brad Robertson is Guild's co-founder and chief science officer. He studied drafting and engineering, began growing and extracting cannabis to pay down student debt, and taught himself chemistry and plant micropropagation before founding the company with his father after an earlier laboratory of theirs was raided. The company describes its team as having spent more than two decades in the cannabis industry.
The THCa crystalline milestone
Guild was the first company to commercially market 99.9% pure THCa crystalline. Robertson dates the isolation to November 2015 and the product's debut to that year's Emerald Cup. The release helped establish isolated cannabinoid crystals as a commercial concentrate format rather than a laboratory curiosity.
Concentrate range
Diamond sauce pairs crystalline potency with full-spectrum cannabinoids and terpenes. Everything is made in small, handcrafted batches rather than at commodity scale.
Extraction and manufacturing
Guild uses light hydrocarbon solvents, a method it selects because it preserves the original cannabinoid and terpene profile of the input material. Through Guild Extracts Manufacturing the company also sells extraction tolling, post-processing, distillation, packaging, cartridge filling, bulk concentrates, white-label production and consulting to other licensed operators.
Cannabis Cup results
At the 2017 NorCal Cannabis Cup, Guild's Jack Herer THCa Crystalline placed second for Best Sativa Concentrate. At the 2018 NorCal Cannabis Cup, Strawberry Banana Sauce, made in collaboration with Bon Vivant, placed third for Best Hybrid Concentrate.
