At a glance

iAnthus Capital Holdings is a publicly reporting, vertically integrated U.S. cannabis operator rather than a single consumer-product label. Through subsidiaries it cultivates, processes, wholesales and retails cannabis in state-regulated markets. Its portfolio includes MPX, Anthologie, Black Label, Cheetah, Frūtful, GrowHealthy, Last Resort, Moodz, Sunshine State and The Vault.

Founding and public-market first

iAnthus was co-founded in 2014 by Hadley Ford and Randy Maslow. Company filings identify Maslow as a co-founder from September 2014, while historical corporate materials named Ford as the founding chief executive. iAnthus later promoted itself as the first U.S. multi-state cannabis operator to go public and raise capital in Canada, establishing its early identity as an acquisition and operating platform.

How the company is structured

The British Columbia parent is a holding company whose operating assets sit in U.S. subsidiaries and licensed entities. The model combines owned operations, management arrangements, minority interests and state-specific licenses. That distinction matters: the iAnthus name represents the corporate platform, while consumers encounter local retail banners and product brands produced under different state rules.

Current operating footprint

Its fiscal-2025 Form 10-K reported 40 dispensaries and four operating cultivation or processing facilities across seven states at December 31, 2025, plus roughly 173,000 square feet of built-out cultivation and processing space. The filing listed licensed interests in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. Footprint numbers are dated snapshots and can change with openings, closures, sales and approvals.

Stores and local banners

Florida is anchored by GrowHealthy, which the 2025 filing said operated 25 medical dispensaries. Other retail operations include Maryland stores, Massachusetts medical and adult-use locations, three co-located MPX New Jersey dispensaries, a remaining Arizona store and New York medical dispensaries operated through Citiva. Store names, open status and adult-use permissions should be checked against current state menus and regulators.

Products and house brands

iAnthus sells flower, pre-rolls, edibles, topicals, vape cartridges, concentrates, live resin, wax, oils and tinctures. MPX, short for Melting Point Extracts, is its best-known concentrates brand. Anthologie covers premium flower, Last Resort covers ready-to-roll ground flower, Black Label centers on concentrates, and Frūtful focuses on extracted products; its 2025 portfolio also included Cheetah, Moodz, Sunshine State and The Vault.

Wholesale and production

The 2025 annual report said iAnthus products reached more than 600 dispensaries through wholesale channels in Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It also described processing for owned brands and products made under white-label or licensing agreements. Cross-state brand consistency is therefore not automatic: cultivation source, formula, licensed manufacturer and testing regime can vary by market.

Recapitalization and material risk

After debt defaults and a multiyear restructuring process, iAnthus completed a court-approved recapitalization on June 24, 2022. Secured and unsecured lenders received 97.25% of the post-transaction common shares, leaving prior shareholders with 2.75%. The fiscal-2025 10-K also disclosed substantial doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern, financing needs, debt exposure and continuing federal illegality.

Research basis and limits

This profile prioritizes iAnthus’s fiscal-2025 Form 10-K, SEC recapitalization filing, current results release and corporate product and operations pages. Older website pages still display outdated store and state counts, so current filing data controls where figures conflict. This is an operating-company profile, not investment advice; post-filing openings, closures, licenses, management changes and financial condition require fresh verification.
