The 40 acres are worked as a patchwork of terraced hillside gardens — the Homestead Garden, Serendipity, and the Ancient Garden — spread across arid Southern Humboldt slopes.
During the Proposition 215 era, the operation ran as Serendipity Collective, supplying organic sungrown cannabis directly to patients. The land carries a legacy, too: it once belonged to Joani, a powerhouse musician who blazed a trail for queer performers in Northern California through the 1950s and '60s. Her legacy gardens are still tended, and the farm's mission of building self-sufficiency among a new generation of women grows straight out of her spirit.
