Oleum Extracts is a Washington cannabis processor founded by Aaron Palmer and Graham Jennings and run out of Auburn, Washington. It makes hydrocarbon concentrates, THCA crystal products and infused joints, with a catalog running from the original Honey Crystal through Cold Cured and Live Resin, Cryotek, Rocks & Sauce, Wizard Stones, White Walker and Sugar Cones.
The Auburn facility
Leafly filmed the debut episode of The Art of Extraction at the Auburn facility, with Jennings walking through the company's BHO extraction process, THC crystallization, live resin and terpene ratios.
Honey Crystal
Oleum calls Honey Crystal its original product: a high-cannabinoid, fully de-waxed concentrate the company positions as setting its standard for quality at a fair value, with rotating cultivars behind a consistent format.
Cold Cured and Live Resin
Live Resin starts instead from fresh-frozen material harvested close to peak maturity, preserving the volatile compounds of the living plant. "Cold" describes the processing conditions; "live" describes the starting material.
Cryotek
Cryotek is made through a cryogenic filtration process that yields what the company calls a glacially clear concentrate with a crisp, cool flavor.
Rocks & Sauce and Wizard Stones
Rocks & Sauce pairs THCA crystal structures with a concentrated terpene fraction, the crystals forming under pressure inside their native terpenes so that solid cannabinoid and aromatic liquid are packaged together. Wizard Stones are the long-grown version of the same work: Oleum describes them as completely isolated THCA containing no other cannabinoids, grown over months into faceted, iridescent structures. The founders have described seeding the solution at freezing temperatures to form small THCA groupings before the diamonds grow out, a process running a month or longer after the extract is jarred.
Sugar Cones
Sugar Cones are infused joints filled with dry-cured flower and blended with Oleum concentrate.
Competition record
Oleum took four placements at the 2019 Seattle Cannabis Cup: second place in pre-rolls for the MAC Sugar Cone, second in indica concentrates for Blueberry Cookies Live Resin, third in sativa concentrates for East Coast Sour Diesel Live Resin and third in hybrid concentrates for Pineapple Express Live Resin.
