BIC shaped a weekender bag like its own Maxi Pocket Lighter and actually committed to the joke. The Flickaway Weekender was a limited-edition 4/20 drop in 2026, sold in Orange Blaze and Purple Haze for $4.20 each against a stated $99 retail value, with cannabis-themed prints pulled from BIC's special-edition lighter designs.
What came in the bag
It shipped fully loaded: an 8-pack of BIC Counterculture Design Pocket Lighters, a travel tray, a stash jar, a custom luggage tag and bag charms. The bag itself added a removable insulated pouch BIC called the Stash Sidekick, plus a lighter-shaped interior pocket.
That's a full weekend kit built around a brand most people only think about at the gas station counter. The lighters are the anchor, the tray and jar cover the session basics, and the tag and charms make it obvious whose bag it is at baggage claim.
How the drop went
The bag went on sale April 20, 2026, exclusively on BIC's Flickaway site, limited to two per person. It sold in two waves, one at noon Eastern and a second at 4:20 PM, and both sold out. BIC paired the drop with a separate sweepstakes for a cannabis-destination vacation that did not include the bag.
BIC no longer lists it on its store. The Flickaway site now redirects to BIC's corporate homepage, so the only way to get one today is the resale market.
Why it worked
This is what cannabis brand marketing looks like when someone actually has a sense of humor about it. A mass-market lighter company leaned into 4/20 with a $4.20 price tag, a product shaped like its own hero item and a kit that people would actually use. It was also the third 4/20 accessory drop in a row from BIC, which says the joke is landing.
