The PAX 3 Complete Kit is a dual-use portable vaporizer that runs dry herb and concentrates from the same oven, heats up in about 22 seconds, and ships with the concentrate insert, half-pack lid, multi-tool and extra screens the basic kit leaves out. PAX has since replaced it with the PAX Plus.
What It Actually Does
The oven sits at the bottom of the device, as far from the mouthpiece as the shell allows, with a surgical-grade stainless steel vapor path running straight up. Pack it with finely ground flower, close the magnetized lid, and the four LED petals pulse purple until they flip green — roughly 22 seconds, against the 45 the PAX 2 needed.
Four temperature presets sit at 360°F, 380°F, 400°F and 420°F, cycled by long-pressing the button under the mouthpiece. A lip sensor bumps the oven up when the device reaches your mouth and drops it back when it doesn't, which is how a half-gram pack stretches further than it should.
Swap the oven lid for the concentrate insert and the same device runs wax at 420°F. That dual-use trick is what made the PAX 3 the first of its kind in the lineup, and it is still the reason people hunt one down.
What's In The Box
The Complete Kit is the Basic Kit plus the parts that unlock everything else. Basic gets you the device, an installed oven screen, the magnetic USB charge cable, a cleaning kit with pipe cleaners and a wire brush, and both flat and raised silicone mouthpieces.
Complete adds the concentrate insert, three extra oven screens, the food-grade multi-tool, and the half-pack oven lid that shrinks the roughly half-gram chamber to about a quarter gram for shorter sessions. If you only smoke flower in full packs, Basic covers it. Everything else lives in Complete.

Standby kicks in after 30 seconds without a draw and the device powers off entirely after three idle minutes. The PAX app drives the LED color themes over Bluetooth. Run a pipe cleaner down the vapor path every few sessions — skip it and both flavor and draw resistance go sideways fast.
Where It Sits Now
The PAX Plus replaced the PAX 3 in the lineup, and the current portables are the PAX Mini 2 and the PAX Four. PAX Labs still lists the PAX 3 in four finishes — Onyx, Burgundy, Sage and Sand — and still stocks its accessories, so a unit already in hand stays serviceable.
Buying one now means going through an authorized retailer rather than ordering direct. Worth the hunt if you want dual-use in a shell the size of a granola bar. If you want the current oven and current support, start with the Plus instead.
