Cookie Glue is a hybrid from Emerald Family Farms, a Humboldt County farmer cooperative. It crosses GSC, the cultivar first sold as Girl Scout Cookies, with GG4, the cut now known as Original Glue.
Both parents are award winners. GG4 took first place at both the Michigan and Los Angeles Cannabis Cups in 2014. Weedmaps credits Emerald Family Farms as the breeder of the cross.
An Emerald Triangle cooperative
Emerald Family Farms was founded in 2015 by Patrick Murphy, who serves as founder and CEO. The cooperative brings together hundreds of farmers from across the Emerald Triangle.
Member farms in Mendocino, Humboldt and Trinity counties supply the flower, which lets the brand carry a wider range of strains. The cooperative describes its members as master growers, breeders and farmers, and focuses on sustainable, sun-grown cannabis.
Emerald Family Farms holds a California license, C11-0001010-LIC, as a cultivator, manufacturer and distributor. Its motto is "Respect the land. Respect the people. Respect the plant."
Flower, pre-rolls and concentrates statewide
The cooperative organizes its products into flower, extract, edible and disposable lines. Its jarred flower and pre-rolls have included Koolaid Jars, Tropical Cake, Peyote OG, Jungle Cake and Jack Wreck.
On the extract side, Leafly lists sugar wax testing around 60–65% THC.
In February 2021, the cooperative signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Continuum, the California distribution platform of Cresco Labs. Cresco described Continuum as one of the state's largest full-service distribution businesses, and the deal carried Emerald Family Farms products across California.
Jigga's GSC
GSC came from California breeder Jigga, who built it from an OG Kush sub-type and an intermediate strain called F1 Durban. Leafly also files GSC, also known as Cookies, as an indica-dominant hybrid with THC around 25%.
Its effects open euphoric and settle into full-body relaxation. The plant flowers in 7–9 weeks and shows green and purple buds with orange hairs.
The strain has won several Cannabis Cups over the years. Its genetics also spawned well-known offshoots such as Thin Mint and Platinum GSC.
GG4 and its cup run
GG4 was bred by GG Strains LLC from Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel. Leafly lists it as 63% indica and 37% sativa, with chunky, resin-covered buds and THC around 20%.
Beyond its 2014 Cannabis Cup wins in Michigan and Los Angeles, GG4 also won the High Times Jamaican World Cup in 2015. It flowers in 9–10 weeks, yields heavily and has parented Grease Monkey and Gorilla Cookies.
Its reputation rests on heavy euphoria and a relaxation strong enough to leave people glued to the couch. Leafly names caryophyllene, myrcene and limonene as the dominant terpenes in both GG4 and GSC.
Cookie Glue on shelves
Weedmaps classifies Cookie Glue as a hybrid. Reported flavors skew pungent and earthy, with spice, sour fruit and pine coming through. The cross is not currently available as seeds or clones.
The name has traveled beyond the cooperative. California brand Quiet Kings has sold Cookie Glue in 28-packs of 0.5 g whole-flower pre-rolls, and Just Herb has listed it as flower in Ohio, both under the same GSC × GG4 lineage.
Weedmaps users of those listings most often report feeling relaxed, euphoric, focused and uplifted.
