Banana Bros. builds OTTO, the automatic milling machine that grinds your flower and packs it straight into a cone at the press of a button. Founded in 2017, the company pairs its machines with its own premium pre-rolled cones, replacement parts and accessories, sold direct and through retail shelves across the US.
Where It Comes From
CEO Dave Richmond and Director of Innovation Manny Montano started the company in 2017. Both were veteran users with a reputation for out-of-the-box thinking and a shared irritation with how long a decent cone takes to build by hand. The house line, "make it easy, to take it easy," still reads like the design brief for everything they have shipped since.
What They Actually Make
The core of the catalog is the original OG OTTO, a countertop unit that mills and fills in one motion. OTTO GO is the portable, rechargeable version, built to mill into a cone or straight into your glass. A metallic gold OTTO ships with a carrying case.
Around the machines sits the supply side: premium pre-rolled cones, bundles, accessories and replacement parts for the wear items on the unit. The O-Tube snaps on magnetically underneath and holds the cone while OTTO fills it, and it takes standard King and Shorty sizes rather than locking you into one shape.
How OTTO Actually Works
This is the part that earns the shelf space. Ordinary grinders do not react to what is in them, so they clump wet material and powderize dry material. OTTO's patented milling system senses resistance as it runs and adjusts the direction, speed and pressure of its blades to match.
It also mills one layer at a time inside an expandable chamber instead of crushing everything at once, which keeps leaf, oil and kief intact on the way into the cone. The technology is covered by two US patents, and the SMART Milling Machine name is the company's own trademark.
The Cones
Banana Bros. rolls its own, and they are the quiet reason the system works as well as it does. Each one is hand-rolled from 100% natural unbleached fiber, GMO-free, chlorine free and vegan-friendly, and shaped for a slow, even burn top to bottom. The Cone Club subscription sets your quantity, cone type and delivery frequency.
The High Rise Read
Most grinder upgrades are the same three-piece aluminum puck with a new logo on it. This is a genuinely different machine, and the difference shows up most on sticky flower, which is exactly where hand grinders jam. If your material is too wet, dry it out for a few hours before feeding it. That is the one real limitation.
Treat it like the appliance it is. Clean the chamber with isopropyl alcohol, keep spare parts around, and skip the dishwasher. OTTO GO charges in about 45 minutes and gets at least twenty fills out of it, which covers a weekend for most people. It earns a spot next to a Storz & Bickel on a serious shelf.
Where To Find It
Everything sells direct from the brand's own store, with free US ground shipping on OTTO purchases and a store locator pointing you at shops carrying it in person. Support runs weekdays, 8 to 5 Pacific, and replacement parts are sold individually so a worn unit gets fixed instead of replaced.
