Cheech & Chong Glass is the licensed glass line of Richard "Cheech" Marin and Tommy Chong, built by Vancouver accessories distributor West Coast Gifts. The deal was signed in 2014, and the first pieces shipped in June 2015. More than a decade later, the water pipes, dugouts and hand pipes still carry names from the duo's records, films and bits.
The newest drop shows the formula. On July 20, 2026, the store published the 12-inch Happy Herbs Sidekick, a GEAR Premium x Cheech & Chong water pipe limited to 420 pieces.
Back to Vancouver, where the duo met
The hometown is the point. Cheech and Chong met in Vancouver and began touring stand-up there in the late 1960s, and Chong had lived in the city. They released nine albums between 1972 and 1985, and the brand's own history bills Up in Smoke as the highest-grossing comedy of 1978.
West Coast Gifts saw the fit and partnered with the duo in 2014 to build an officially licensed glass line. The brand says the pieces are personally endorsed by both men, and its tagline leans on that lineage: "Smoke with the Originals."
West Coast Gifts, the company behind the glass
Howard "H" Franklin founded West Coast Gifts in 2003. It opened its first warehouse in North Vancouver in 2006 and was running a 20,000-square-foot facility by 2011. Headquarters sit on East Kent Avenue South in Vancouver.
The company calls itself Canada's largest distributor of wholesale glass pipes, vaporizers and smoking accessories, with more than 7,000 products. It serves Canada and the United States and ships to more than 20 other countries, from Australia and Japan to Germany and the UK.
Cheech & Chong Glass sits on a roster with Red Eye Glass, GEAR Premium, Red Eye Tek, LIT Silicone, iRie and Retro Glass, plus more than 100 other brands in distribution. The licensing slate added The Kids in the Hall in 2021 and the Grateful Dead and Creature in 2024. The company marked its 20th anniversary in 2023.
Nick Wamsley and the approval loop
West Coast Gifts hired veteran glassblower Nick Wamsley as its glass designer around the time the license was signed, and he led product development. Nothing ships without the licensors. The company's 2020 profile of the line says Cheech and Chong approve every single product that goes into it.
Wamsley's brief was to serve two crowds at once. He described a line that "hits the novice" while still giving collectors who know every detail of glass something to chase. The line eventually grew to hundreds of products across hand pipes, water pipes, dab rigs and bubblers.
The Labrador and a catalog of film references
Most pieces take their names from the duo's movies and routines. The breakout was the Labrador hand pipe, modeled on the oversized joint from Up in Smoke. It sold well enough to spawn a bigger Labrador Grande.
West Coast Gifts' wholesale collection in September 2026 reads like a set list. Dave's Not Here, Man shows up as a dugout, a beaker and a Sherlock hand pipe. Nice Dreams, Still Smokin, Moustache Ride and Stoners in Space name water pipes, and Earache, Pop Art and Parked name dugouts. The 6-inch Labrador now ships in a collectible tin.
Sizes run from 3.8-inch dugouts to the 48-inch How High Are You bell-base water pipe. Several water pipes use 7 mm-thick glass, and every glass piece is borosilicate. A Commemorative 50th Anniversary set covers a 5-inch Sherlock hand pipe and 12- and 15-inch beaker tubes.
Trays, jars and other Cheech & Chong gear
Glass leads, but the store stocks more. September 2025 brought Peace & Love, Black and Earache rolling trays, plus Tie-Dye and East LA gift sets. A 500 ml storage jar followed in December 2025, and a Parked dab mat sits in the wholesale collection.
The Cheech & Chong name travels beyond West Coast Gifts, too. Santa Cruz Shredder sells Cheech & Chong aluminum grinders in two-, three- and four-piece builds, along with an all-in-one hemp rolling kit.
Online head shop Daily High Club carries a separate Up in Smoke dab-rig line under the Cheech and Chong name, including the Anthony 8-inch dab rig and the Jade East 7-inch dab rig. Its Jade East listing names RGR Canada Inc. as the vendor.
Sidekick drops and the store in 2026
The sharpest crossover runs through West Coast Gifts' own GEAR Premium brand, whose Sidekick design earned a U.S. patent in 2022. The 12-inch Van Sidekick, a limited edition of 420, went up on the Cheech & Chong Glass store in April 2024.
The Happy Herbs Sidekick followed on July 20, 2026, in the same 12-inch, 7 mm format and the same 420-piece run, with a $199 list price. In September 2026 the direct store ran collections for water pipes, hand pipes, dugouts, dab mats, parts and the 50th Anniversary set, with 20% off select pieces, while West Coast Gifts supplied retailers in Canada and the United States.
