DaVinci is a cannabis-vaporizer hardware brand known for portable dry-herb devices, cartridge batteries and an electronic concentrate rig. Its design language centers on controllable temperature, removable batteries on several models, and glass or zirconia components in the vapor path.
Origins and founder
Cortney Smith founded DaVinci Tech in 2011, carrying over the safety-critical engineering discipline he had built running commercial bungee jumping operations in Asia from 1991. The brand's own history credits it with pioneering glass-on-glass vapor pathways, introducing removable batteries and developing compact portable designs. The name references Leonardo da Vinci and the company's stated ambition to combine engineering, material choice and user control.
The current device family
The lineup splits across formats. The IQ3 is the flagship portable dry-herb model, with the IQ Core and the smaller MIQRO-C alongside it. ARTIQ is a battery and cooling enclosure for standard 510 oil cartridges rather than a dry-herb oven. The EQ Electric Quartz is a countertop electronic rig for concentrates, sold in limited runs including the Jacuzzi Collection and the EQ Skyrise.
IQ3 and portable engineering
The IQ3 uses a removable 21700 battery, USB-C charging, a 0.7-gram dry-herb oven and adjustable temperatures up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit. DaVinci describes its airway as zirconia and glass. Smart Paths and manual temperature settings give the user direct control over the heating curve.
Awards
DaVinci's press archive records the IQ winning Best Product at Spannabis Barcelona in 2017. The archive also preserves reviews and launch coverage for the IQ, MIQRO, IQC and later collaborations.
Ownership
Greenlane Holdings announced on 19 October 2021 that it would acquire DaVinci for up to $20 million, describing it as a developer and manufacturer of premium portable vaporizers and folding it into Greenlane's owned-brands portfolio. The deal was expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Warranty and parts
Warranty length varies by model: DaVinci lists ten years for the IQ3, two years for the MIQRO-C and the EQ Electric Quartz, and one year for ARTIQ. Removable batteries and a catalog of mouthpieces, dosing capsules, tools and replacement parts extend service life across the range.
