At a glance
DaVinci is a cannabis-vaporizer hardware brand known for portable dry-herb devices, cartridge batteries and, more recently, an electronic concentrate rig. Its design language centers on controllable temperature, replaceable batteries on several models and glass or zirconia components in the vapor path. DaVinci sells hardware rather than cannabis, so the device and whatever legal material a consumer supplies are separate products with separate risks and rules.
Origins and founder
Cortney Smith founded DaVinci Tech in 2011 through Organicix LLC. The brand’s own history describes a 2012 pocket-portable vaporizer as its first major device, followed by later advances in glass-lined airpaths, ceramic ovens and the IQ platform. Smith’s role is supported both by DaVinci’s corporate history and public filings. The name references Leonardo da Vinci and the company’s stated ambition to combine engineering, material choice and user control.
The current device family
DaVinci’s current store compares several distinct products. The IQ3 is its flagship portable dry-herb model; the IQC and smaller MIQRO-C remain in the dry-herb range. ARTIQ is a battery and cooling enclosure for standard 510 oil cartridges, not a dry-herb oven. The EQ Electric Quartz is a countertop-style electronic rig for concentrates. Because compatibility, stock and pricing change, the official comparison page should be checked before purchase rather than relying on older reviews of discontinued models.
IQ3 and portable engineering
The IQ3 uses a removable 21700 battery, USB-C charging, a 0.7-gram dry-herb oven and adjustable temperatures up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit. DaVinci describes its airway as zirconia and glass and gives the device a ten-year limited warranty. Its “Smart Paths” and manual temperature settings are device controls, not evidence that a chosen temperature produces a predictable medical or psychoactive result. Real performance also depends on material, maintenance, airflow and battery condition.
ARTIQ and EQ
ARTIQ encloses most standard 0.5- to 1.0-gram 510 cartridges and routes vapor through an extended airpath; cartridges are supplied separately. The EQ Electric Quartz is built for concentrates and uses dual rechargeable batteries, a quartz heating system and a touchscreen interface. These two products take DaVinci beyond the original portable dry-herb niche, but they should not be described as interchangeable: one powers third-party oil cartridges, while the other is a dedicated concentrate device.
Awards and press record
DaVinci’s press archive documents the IQ winning Best Product at Spannabis Barcelona in 2017. That is a specific, dated product award and is stronger evidence than undated “award-winning” marketing. The archive also preserves reviews and launch coverage for IQ, MIQRO, IQC and later collaborations. Reviews can help explain usability, but they are subjective snapshots and may refer to earlier hardware revisions, software or pricing.
Ownership changes
Greenlane Holdings acquired specified DaVinci assets from Organicix in October 2021. A Greenlane filing dated May 1, 2024 then documents an asset sale to Synergy Imports LLC and identifies Cortney Smith as Synergy’s manager. The filing also amended obligations related to the earlier DaVinci agreement. Accordingly, this profile does not repeat the stale shorthand that DaVinci is simply a current Greenlane brand; the documented ownership chain changed in 2024.
Warranty, parts and longevity
Warranty length varies by model: DaVinci currently lists ten years for IQ3, five years for IQC, two years for MIQRO-C and EQ, and one year for ARTIQ. Replaceable batteries and a catalog of mouthpieces, dosing capsules, tools and other parts can extend service life, but consumables and accidental damage may be excluded. Purchasers should keep proof of purchase and read the model-specific warranty rather than assuming every component has the same coverage.
How to read this profile
Specifications and product claims come from DaVinci’s current catalog; corporate ownership comes from a filed transaction document; the Spannabis result comes from the brand’s dated press archive. Statements such as cooler, cleaner or purer vapor are treated as manufacturer claims unless independently tested. Vaporizer use is limited to adults 21 and older where legal, and heating cannabis or concentrates is not risk-free.
