Puffco is a concentrate-vaporizer company founded in 2013 by Roger Volodarsky, who remains its chief executive. It helped move electronic dabbing away from pen-style devices and into a category of temperature-controlled rigs, modular glass and pocket hardware led by the Peak, Peak Pro, Proxy and Pivot.
Founder and origin
Volodarsky started the company in 2013 after concluding there had to be a better way to interact with concentrates through technology, and set out to build a platform for extract consumption rather than a single device. Puffco combines industrial design, electronics, glass and temperature control, and maintains a public patents page covering its issued patents.
Peak and Peak Pro
The Peak is the desktop-style device that established the line: an upright form combining a water-filtered glass top, electronic heating and a ceramic chamber, visually distinct from both vape pens and torch-fired glass rigs. Peak Pro sits above it with the larger 3DXL chamber, app connectivity and deeper temperature and session customization. Replaceable glass and chamber components make the platform expandable rather than fixed.
Proxy
Proxy separates the electronic 3D Chamber core from the glass pipe that holds it, so one heater can move between first-party and artist-made glass attachments. It is sold as a Core Kit and as a Proxy Pipe, and is built for concentrate formats including rosin, resin, water hash, budder, shatter, diamonds and dry sift.
Pivot
Pivot is the pocket-sized tier. It runs four heat settings with real-time temperature control, an algorithm that holds bowl temperature steady, USB-C fast charging and a single-button interface covering Boost and Disco modes. It ships with 10 mm and 14 mm glass joint adapters for use with existing rigs, carries a two-year warranty, lists at $150 in the United States, and is rated for roughly fifteen dabs per charge. It comes in Onyx and Sapphire.
Chambers and accessories
The ecosystem extends past the base devices to 3D and 3DXL chambers, replacement glass, travel cases, charging accessories, the Hot Knife loading tool, the Plus pen and app controls for supported hardware.
Design recognition
The Puffco Peak won Gold for Product Design at the 2019 Clio Cannabis Awards, entered from Los Angeles. The credited team was Volodarsky as chief executive, Avi Bajpai as head of product development, Roger Sayre as design engineer and Justin Cohen as industrial designer.
