Phoenician Grinders is a cannabis-accessory company that builds machined aluminum herb grinders. Origins and ownership
Brothers Colton Dukat and Dane Dukat founded the company in 2014. Its own history page dates the start to that year and describes the founders as professional engineers who set out to fix the grinder problems they kept running into: stuck threads, cross-threading, inefficient teeth, fixed screens and awkward collection chambers. The retail identity now centers on Phoenician Grinders; earlier trade coverage used the name Phoenician Engineering. Those are stages of one operation.
The threadless Quick Lock
The signature Quick Lock uses a triple-locking wedge mechanism that joins and separates sections with a quarter turn instead of screw threads. The company specifies "diametrically cut razor sharp teeth" designed to cut rather than shred, smash and tear.
Four-piece filtration system
Four-piece models carry a thick stainless steel removable screen supported by a Fibonacci spiral brace. An upgrade kit offers three micron sizes, so the screen specification can be changed without replacing the grinder. Phoenician offers a limited lifetime warranty on grinders bought directly or through authorized retailers, with registration required within ninety days of purchase. Covered functional components are the teeth, lock notch couplings, magnets and screen braces. Cosmetic damage, surface scratches, dents, chipped magnets, stripped screws, torn screens, anodize fading, physical damage, and lost or stolen product are excluded.
The current support page clarifies the warranty more precisely than the phrase 'lifetime warranty' alone. Registration is required within ninety days, coverage applies to manufacturing failure in functional components, and cosmetic damage, worn screens, stripped screws, chipped magnets, loss, theft and improper cleaning are excluded. Phoenician identifies the body material as DFARS-compliant 6061-T6 aluminum and sells two-piece and four-piece configurations. Features such as the removable screen, paper dispenser and ashtray depend on the model. A large four-piece grinder and a compact two-piece unit should not be described as carrying identical chambers or accessories.
