Select is a multistate cannabis brand built around vape oil and hardware, with edibles extending the line. Cameron Forni founded Select in Portland, Oregon in 2015 through Cura Partners. Curaleaf completed its acquisition of Cura Partners on February 1, 2020, and Select now operates as a Curaleaf brand through state-licensed production in each market it reaches.
Founding and the Curaleaf acquisition
Forni built Select around vape cartridge oil and hardware. Curaleaf closed the transaction on February 1, 2020, acquiring Select's manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales operations along with the brand's intellectual property. Forni became President of Select after closing, charged with expanding a wholesale-led West Coast brand into new markets.
The 2023 national rebrand
In July 2023 Curaleaf rebranded Select across 15 U.S. states, realigning the line around oils, hardware and edibles under one visual identity.
Vapes and hardware
Select Essentials and Select Elite are the two oil tiers, and both feed the brand's hardware. Cliq, a proprietary pod system, launched in March 2022. Briq is an all-in-one two-gram vape developed with Advanced Vapor Devices, now in its BRIQ 2 generation.
Edibles
X Bites is the edible line. Live Rosin X Bites are made solventless, and High Dose X Bites reach up to 50mg THC per bar and 10mg per piece.
Footprint
Because marijuana cannot cross state lines, Select products are manufactured through Curaleaf and licensed partners inside each state that carries the brand. Formats and doses vary accordingly, and the current line is listed by market on the brand's own site.
The current portfolio is easiest to understand as a set of product families rather than one uniform national menu. Essentials and Elite describe oil lines, while Cliq and Briq refer to hardware formats. X Bites extends the name into edibles. A product carrying the Select name in one state may differ in dose, strain, ingredients or package size from a product sold elsewhere because cannabis products are made and tested within the licensed market where they are sold.
How the platform fits together
Cliq uses a proprietary battery-and-pod connection instead of a standard threaded cartridge. Briq is an all-in-one device, so the battery and oil reservoir are sold together. Those formats sit beside conventional cartridge products in some markets. For edibles, the package should be the primary source for serving size and cannabinoid content; historical launch materials describe the line, but current rules and formulations are set state by state.
Curaleaf relationship
Curaleaf's 2020 closing announcement says the transaction brought Select's manufacturing, distribution, marketing and intellectual property into the Curaleaf organization. That corporate relationship is important when reading older Select material: Cura Partners and Cameron Forni describe the brand's founding period, while Curaleaf is the present parent named in the public acquisition record. The 2023 rebrand then organized the national presentation around a shared visual system without removing local production requirements.

The official site routes visitors by market, and licensed dispensary menus provide the most useful inventory check. Buyers can compare package labels for oil type, hardware compatibility, ingredients, potency, batch information and required warnings. Select products are intended for adults or qualified patients where regulated cannabis sales are permitted; a brand name or familiar device does not override local eligibility rules.
