Sunderstorm is the Los Angeles cannabis manufacturer behind KANHA, founded in California in 2015 and run by co-founder and CEO Cameron Clarke. CB Insights puts its headquarters in Van Nuys. The 2026 portfolio covers KANHA gummies and vapes, NANO5 sublinguals, Wind vapes, Solara flower, Bounti vapes and LIME pre-rolls.
It has moved fast in 2026. Sunderstorm bought LIME in January, then signed four international partnerships in February to take KANHA into Europe and Australia.
Cameron Clarke's house of brands
Clarke set Sunderstorm up as a parent company for several brands rather than a single label, and it now calls itself a cannabis house of brands and life-sciences company. The tagline reads: powered by nature, enhanced by science. He told Prepared Foods in December 2023 that KANHA's look drew on new-age concepts and a connection to Asian culture. His line on the business is short: “a brand is nothing but trust between a company and a consumer.”
The growth showed up in rankings. Sunderstorm placed No. 319 on the 2023 Inc. 5000, and MG Magazine named it one of the top cannabis employers of 2022. CB Insights lists Altitude Investment Management among its backers. Sunderstorm is a member of the UCBA and NACB trade groups.
KANHA and the rest of the lineup
KANHA is the flagship, a gummy brand that also carries vapes. Sunderstorm's June 2023 acquisition release called it the fourth-largest edible brand in the U.S. at the time. It shares the California gummy aisle with Kiva Confections, the Alameda edibles maker.
The other labels fill out the formats. NANO5 is the sublingual line, Wind makes vapes and Solara handles flower. Everything runs under the Fresh Promise, the company's standard for a zero-pesticide policy, testing and packaging freshness. Sunderstorm manufactures in-house and runs its own climate-controlled distribution fleet.
Bounti and the Nevada move
The first deal came on June 8, 2023. Sunderstorm acquired Abide Brands, the Nevada company behind Bounti Vapes, without disclosing terms. The release called Bounti one of Nevada's top-selling vape brands. Las Vegas natives founded Abide as a boutique craft brand, and Kevin Spence was its president and CEO at the time of the sale.
The acquisition pushed Sunderstorm into vapes and folded the Abide team into its Nevada operations. That June 2023 release listed Sunderstorm in California, Nevada, Massachusetts and Colorado, with Thailand next on the map.
LIME and the pre-roll lane
The second deal landed on January 12, 2026. Sunderstorm bought LIME, a California pre-roll brand founded in 2019 and carried in hundreds of licensed California dispensaries. Terms again stayed private. LIME keeps its own identity while running on Sunderstorm's manufacturing, supply chain and quality systems.
The move gave the company a third category after edibles and vapes. Clarke framed it as a bet on execution over hype. Cannabis Business Times covered the deal the day it broke, and Forbes set it beside early-2026 acquisitions by Nabis and Wyld. The company said 2025 brought organic growth and strong margins, and Clarke said it would keep hunting for accretive deals.
Bangkok, Skopje and the international map
Thailand came first. Sunderstorm partnered with THCG Group Ltd., which holds export licenses, on a facility near Bangkok. Prepared Foods reported in December 2023 that the first KANHA products were set for January 2024. The launch plan called for four SKUs, with four to five more over the following year. Clarke told the outlet the company needed to do all of the manufacturing itself to keep products consistent across markets.
He compared Thailand to California eight or nine years earlier and wanted a voice in building its infrastructure. The same interview had Sunderstorm weighing European medical supply, the thread that became the 2026 deals.
On February 25, 2026, Sunderstorm announced four partners for regulated medical markets abroad. Each one covers a different piece of the chain:
- New Garden Pharma in Skopje, North Macedonia: EU-GMP edibles manufacturing and flower commercialization.
- Medical GmbH in Germany: import and distribution.
- FuGu Holdings in Australia: distribution.
- Grow Group UK in the United Kingdom: import, distribution and local manufacturing.
Alexey Brylev, CEO of New Garden Group, and Pierre Van Weperen of Grow Group UK both spoke in the release. Van Weperen singled out Thai-grown flower as part of the UK portfolio.
Where Sunderstorm sells in 2026
The February 2026 release lists California, Nevada, Massachusetts and Illinois as the company's U.S. markets, with Thailand, Japan, Europe and Australia abroad. Hemp-derived KANHA products reach more than 30 additional states through a separate channel.
California operations run under license C12-0000402-LIC, held by Sunderstorm Bay LLC. Customer mail goes to info@sunderstorm.com and dispensary orders to orders@sunderstorm.com. Clarke remains co-founder and CEO, with KANHA, Bounti and LIME all under the Sunderstorm roof.
