Temescal Wellness is a New England cannabis operator running two very different businesses under one name: three adult-use and medical dispensaries in Framingham, Hudson and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and three medical-only Alternative Treatment Centers in Dover, Keene and Lebanon, New Hampshire. It has served New Hampshire patients since 2016 and holds three of the seven ATC locations licensed in that state.
Three Massachusetts stores, two menus each
The Massachusetts shops sit at 665 Cochituate Road in Framingham, 252 Coolidge Street in Hudson and 10 Callahan Drive in Pittsfield. Each runs separate recreational and medical menus, serving adult-use shoppers 21 and over alongside registered patients. Shelves cover flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, edibles, tinctures and topicals. Hudson was the first of the three to open, as a 2,700-square-foot medical dispensary.
All three take debit, cash and CanPay and keep an ATM on site, and a rewards program adds loyalty points and early access to new products. Hudson offers free parking behind the building plus complimentary valet, and Pittsfield runs curbside pickup.
Online, Temescal runs its store menus and pre-orders on Dutchie, and the shops also appear on the Leafly and Weedmaps marketplaces. The company pitches itself as a cannabis coach, with education aimed at first-timers and connoisseurs alike.
Pittsfield and the Berkshire first
Pittsfield has a claim to local history. In September 2018 the Callahan Drive store became the first cannabis retailer in Berkshire County to win a provisional adult-use license, at a time when roughly a dozen shops statewide were waiting on final approval to open for recreational sales. The 3,000-square-foot store was ready to serve medical cardholders first.
Worcester and North Adams production
Temescal's Massachusetts production started at 141 Southwest Cutoff in Worcester, licensed for Tier 2 indoor cultivation and product manufacturing, with about 5,000 square feet of flowering space spread across a ten-room grow. Under then-CEO Ted Rebholz, the site was already producing 67 strains for the medical market as the company geared up for adult-use.
In 2021 Temescal signed a long-term lease on a roughly 70,000-square-foot industrial building in North Adams, and in September 2022 it cut the ribbon on a cultivation facility there: a former Crane stationery factory rebuilt from the foundation up in a project of more than $20 million, with about 80 jobs planned. In August 2024 The Berkshire Eagle reported that the North Adams grow would close, and the building is now marketed for lease as a former Temescal facility.
New Hampshire's patient centers
The Dover, Keene and Lebanon centers, at 26 Crosby Road, 69 Island Street and 367 Route 120, operate under New Hampshire's therapeutic cannabis program and serve qualifying patients and their designated caregivers. Temescal Wellness, Inc. is one of just three ATC operators in the state, alongside GraniteLeaf Cannabis and Sanctuary ATC, and a registered patient can buy at any ATC location.
Dover and Keene open weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; since June 20, 2026, Lebanon has run weekdays only. Inventory updates daily across flower, pre-rolls, vapes, extracts, edibles and topicals, and patients can shop in store or pre-order online.
Holders of out-of-state medical cards get 25% off their first visit. Dover sits within about ten minutes of Madbury and Somersworth, while Lebanon draws from towns such as Canaan, New London and Claremont.
Consultations, discounts and education
Service in New Hampshire leans on education. Patient Service Associates offer free one-on-one consultations, in person or by scheduled phone call, and the centers run free in-service presentations for community groups and businesses.
The Patient Affordability Program takes 15% off for patients on SSI, SSDI or Medicaid and for qualifying low-income patients, and veterans get 22% off. A text list carries deals and patient updates, and the New Hampshire site keeps an education library on consumption methods, dosing, cannabinoids and formats such as capsules and tinctures.
Ted Rebholz and the Maryland split
Ted Rebholz founded Temescal, which at one point ran nine East Coast locations across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maryland. In Maryland, a Temescal affiliate began serving patients in January 2018 and became Baltimore City's only licensed medical cultivator and processor; that November it rebranded as Evermore Cannabis Company in what it called the first step toward a complete separation from Temescal.
Culture shows up in the calendar, too. In 2023 Temescal closed its cultivation sites, all three stores and its Framingham corporate office on 4/20 so employees could take the day off with pay, arguing that everyone in the industry should have the holiday. The two state businesses keep separate Instagram accounts, @temescalwellness.mass and @temescalwellnessnh.
