Garlic Cookies is a live rosin from Punch Extracts, the solventless arm of the Punch Edibles family in California. The cultivar behind it is the Chem D × GSC Forum Cut cross from Mamiko Seeds, the same family that produced the clone known as GMO. Leafly lists Garlic Cookies and GMO Garlic Cookies as aliases for that line.

Mamiko Seeds and the Chem Cookies line
David Mamiko of Mamiko Seeds released the Chem Cookies line in 2013. Mamiko has written for Soft Secrets for more than 15 years, and the magazine published his account of how the cross came together.
The recipe pairs Chemdawg D with the Forum cut of Girl Scout Cookies. The Forum clone was reversed so it could serve as the male parent. According to Mamiko, the Chemdawg family on its own does not stand out for concentrates, and the Cookies half improved the line's extraction potential.
SkunkMasterFlex, a Michigan cultivator, selected and propagated the Chem Cookies plant that became famous. He named it GMO, short for genetically modified organism, as a jab at the Girl Scouts cookie ingredient debate and a nod to the plant's unusual growth.
A cut that grows slow and wins cups
GMO is a demanding plant. Mamiko puts flowering at 70–74 days, longer than most modern hybrids, and notes the intersex tendencies common to Chemdawg genetics. Leafly rates it hard to grow, with a medium yield and short to medium height.
The payoff showed up fast. In 2017 the cut took first place in the indica category at the High Times Midwest Cannabis Cup and second place for solventless concentrates. Late that year High Times named it one of its top 10 varieties for 2018.
Solventless makers noticed. 710 Labs, which lists GMO as a clone-only Mamiko cut, calls it a solventless staple. The 710 Labs story shows how much of California's rosin market grew around cultivars like this one. Leafly classifies the line as an indica-dominant hybrid.
How Punch makes its live rosin
Punch Extracts produces live rosin only. The process starts with fresh frozen flower rather than cured flower, a choice Punch makes to hold on to as many terpenes as possible.
That frozen material is washed into hash with ultra purified ice and water. The hash is then pressed through a fine mesh to separate the oil from plant matter. Punch runs the work in a climate controlled room and adds no cutting agents or additives.
