Strawberry Ice Cream is a fresh press live rosin from Punch Extracts, the solventless arm of Los Angeles-area brand Punch Edibles & Extracts. It crosses Ice Cream Cake with Strawberry Banana, pairing a dessert cultivar with a DNA Genetics fruit strain.
Punch has pressed it as a Tier 1 release from flower grown by Emerald Queen Farms. The hash critic Hashwriter reviewed that run in June 2021, grouping it with four other Punch jars.
A Tier 1 press from Emerald Queen Farms
Hashwriter's review covered five Punch releases, and all five were Tier 1 jars. Strawberry Ice Cream was credited to Emerald Queen Farms as the source grower, with the Ice Cream Cake × Strawberry Banana cross listed alongside it.
The rosin arrived with a buttery consistency that turned to badder with little effort. The reviewer called it a soaking-wet, photogenic badder with a light color. On the dab, a vanilla ice cream note led, with strawberry and banana woven underneath.
Other jars in the same review included Ice Cream Mints, a sibling release that shares the Ice Cream Cake parent. Jelly Bomb, Dozizos and Fruity Pebbles rounded out the set.
How Punch makes its live rosin
Punch describes rosin as a full-spectrum concentrate made from flower or hash. Its live rosin starts with fresh frozen flower rather than cured material. That flower is washed into hash with purified ice and water, then pressed through a fine mesh.
Freezing the plant at harvest keeps more of the terpenes, many of which boil off at room temperature. The work happens in a climate-controlled room, and the finished rosin carries no cutting agents or additives.
Punch sells its small-batch solventless line in 4 tiers. Each release comes as either a fresh press or a cold cure batter. Strawberry Ice Cream came to market in the fresh press format.
Hashwriter placed Punch among only two or three legal brands able to make fresh press live rosin at all. The same review noted that Punch buys from some of the same Northern California farms as pricier labels while charging close to a third less.

Strawberry Banana comes from DNA Genetics, working with Serious Seeds. It crosses Crockett's Banana Kush with a strawberry phenotype of Bubble Gum. DNA Genetics puts the result at about 70% indica and 30% sativa.
The breeder lists a flowering time of about 9 weeks, or 63 days. Indoor yields reach up to around 550 grams per square meter, and THC often lands between 20% and 25%. DNA Genetics credits the cross with heavy resin output.
