Sundae Driver is Cannarado's cross of Fruity Pebbles OG and Grape Pie, one of the cleaner-documented dessert cultivars in circulation. Summit Boys run it as a live resin caviar sugar: fresh-frozen input, crystalline finish.
Both parents resolve cleanly
Sundae Driver comes from Cannarado Genetics in Colorado. Fruity Pebbles OG crossed with Grape Pie, and both halves trace back further without dead ends, which is rarer than it should be.
Fruity Pebbles OG is Alien Genetics' three-way of Green Ribbon, Granddaddy Purple and Tahoe Alien. Grape Pie is Cannarado's own work, Cherry Pie crossed with Grape Stomper.
So the vanilla-and-grape character has an actual genetic explanation rather than a marketing one. The grape arrives from two directions at once, and the cream comes off the Fruity Pebbles side.
Stabilized in 2018, broken out by Jungle Boys
The cross was stabilized in 2018 and commercialized through a Jungle Boys pheno hunt, which is how most people first encountered it.
That pathway matters. A breeder stabilizes a line; a grower with a platform finds the plant inside it that the public actually wants. Sundae Driver needed both steps, and plenty of good crosses never get the second one.
Grape Sundae is a separate Cannarado release and a separate plant, despite how close the names sit.
Summit Boys on the extraction
Summit Boys are a legacy California concentrate producer, running since 2016 and originally under Prop 215, best known for The Original White Caviar.
The brand took 14 awards at the 2019 Bay Area Cannabis Cup including Best Product. That is a company record rather than a record for this jar, but a haul that size says something about process consistency.
What live resin caviar sugar means
Live resin starts from material frozen at or near harvest rather than dried and cured. Freezing stops the degradation that normally happens during a dry, so the lighter volatile fraction survives into the extract.
Sugar is what happens next. Cannabinoids crystallize through the extract and build a grainy, wet-sand body rather than a smooth one. Producers encourage it by agitating at lower temperature and pressure, which grows crystal structure without stripping the terpene fraction.
Texture is a finishing call. Whipped instead, the same material would have set as badder. Purged dry without agitation, it would have come out as crumble.
The parent behind a generation
Sundae Driver's real footprint is as a parent. It appears throughout the current generation of dessert crosses, and the vanilla-grape signature it passes down is easy to pick out once you know to look for it.
Cultivar names change far faster than the genetics behind them, which is why the grandparents tend to be the more durable reference point.
How it runs
Caviar sugar portions easily and behaves predictably on a cold-start rig, which makes it one of the more practical live resin formats to keep in rotation. Low heat holds the fruit; high heat flattens it into generic sweetness.
