Wedding Cake is Seed Junky Genetics' Triangle Kush cut run over Animal Mints — first known as Triangle Mints #23 before the Jungle Boys gave it the name that stuck. Dense buds, a heavy trichome coat and a body-forward finish are the parts everyone agrees on.
Where It Comes From
Seed Junky Genetics, the California breeding operation run by JBeezy, built the modern Mints lineup by putting a selected Animal Mints male over a Triangle Kush mother. The standout selection from that cross ran as Triangle Mints #23 before the Jungle Boys, the Los Angeles grow collective, renamed it. Up north the same genetics circulate as Pink Cookies.
The original Seed Junky cut has always been clone-only. It was never released as feminized seed, which is precisely why so many unrelated packs sold as "Wedding Cake" exist under other breeders' names today.
The Cross
Triangle Kush is a Florida OG line, and it supplies the earthy, gas-forward backbone underneath everything else. Animal Mints — itself Animal Cookies crossed with SinMint Cookies — brings the Cookies-family density and the resin production that made the Mints family famous.
That Animal Mints parent is also the connective tissue between this plant and its siblings across the Seed Junky catalog, including Kush Mints and Jealousy. Grown well it throws dense colas, bright orange pistils and a trichome layer thick enough to read in photographs from across a room.
What It Left Behind
Wedding Cake has real competition history behind the name: first in the hybrid category at the 2019 Karma Cup, third in the bio category at the 2019 Highlife Cup, and fifth in outdoor-private at the 2019 Emerald Cup.
Its larger footprint is genetic rather than ceremonial. It became a parent line in its own right — Wedding Crasher and the broader cake-and-crasher family all trace back through it — which is a more durable kind of reach than any single weekend's placement.
