Pot Brothers at Law is the legal-education channel of Craig and Marc Wasserman, brothers and attorneys based in Stanton, California. Their short videos break down police encounters, cannabis law and the rights people carry into a traffic stop. In a June 13, 2026 Q&A with Fat Nugs Magazine, they repeated a line they return to often: cannabis is not fully legal in any state.
The channel lives on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook, with a daily podcast and a merch line running alongside it.
From parking-lot clips to The Script
The Wassermans opened their Instagram account on January 22, 2015, shortly after a guest spot on the Getting High With Adam iLL podcast. Early posts were 15-second Tip of the Day clips, first shot in the car and then in the office parking lot. The firm itself dates to 2004 and took the Pot Brothers at Law name in 2015.
One format outgrew the rest. The Script is a roughly 25-word exchange for a traffic stop that asks why the driver was pulled over, asks whether they are free to go and closes on the Fifth Amendment. It ends with a blunt catchphrase the brothers trademarked, shortened on social media to #STFU. Newer merch updates it to 29 words.
#STFUFriday and the repost that spread it
By 2018 the clips had settled into a weekly series, #STFUFriday. The turning point came when Joey Brabo, chief operating officer of Respect My Region, found one of the videos and reposted it to Facebook. From there it jumped to larger accounts, and views climbed from hundreds of thousands overnight into the millions by the next day.
Cypress Hill's repost alone drew 40 million views, according to Marc. He has put the total for The Script at 300–400 million views across platforms. The series runs across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, and Snoop Dogg is among the accounts that have reposted it.
Cannabis Talk 101 on iHeart
The brothers co-host Cannabis Talk 101 with Chris "Blue" Wright and Joe Grande. The show began in 2016 on a small FM station, partnered with iHeartMedia in 2019 and made its major launch on April 20, 2020. Marc has said it reaches listeners in 126 countries. It now runs through iHeartPodcasts as long-form interviews built around cannabis education and advocacy.
Episodes move through recurring segments. Making Waves covers trending topics, Goes Green follows cannabis business and stocks, Cannabis News runs the headlines and High 5 puts questions to guests. Recent episodes include "Will the Feds Ever Legalize Cannabis" on April 2, 2025, a 4/20 special and a July 2025 episode on Marc's acting award for the film Herbie.
Cannabis law, explained in plain terms
Beyond traffic stops, the brothers cover the gaps between legalization on paper and the law in practice. The Fat Nugs interview runs through the legal line between CBD and THC, possession limits that change from state to state and the rules on carrying cannabis across state lines. It also makes their case for hiring a lawyer over self-representation.
Language is part of the mission. The Wassermans push "cannabis" over older slang and "adult use" over "recreational" in their own copy and on the podcast. Federal legalization, the rescheduling fight that Cannabis Wire tracks on its own desk, is a recurring subject. Stages and guest chairs
The brothers take the material on the road. At CannaCon in New York in January 2022, their seminar "The Etiquette of Engaging Law Enforcement" drew a standing-room crowd and pulled the audience in with prizes for participation. They have also appeared on Comedy Central's Tosh.0.
Guest chairs fill the rest of the calendar. Marc sat down with Robert Hanna for season 4, episode 6 of the Legally Speaking Podcast, and both brothers joined the North American Weed Tour Podcast on January 17, 2022.
An attorney with a screen career
Marc was admitted to the California State Bar in June 1996 and focuses on cannabis business formation and criminal defense. He runs the channel's TikTok. Before law he worked as a child actor on Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and CHiPs. He later co-wrote and produced the comedy Commute, which won Best Feature Comedy at the 2008 Bare Bones Film Festival.
Craig is eight years older and handles business consulting and corporate counseling for the firm. The YouTube channel describes their California practice as criminal defense, business licensing applications, compliance and regulatory advice, with a national network of attorneys in other states.
Merch built on The Script
The brothers sell merch as "The STFU Guys" at pbalmerch.com. The store carries tees, hoodies and hats, including an autographed #STFU hat, plus six-packs of stickers printed with the 29-word version of The Script. Dash cams sit alongside the apparel.
