All American Brkfst is a flower release from Joke's Up Ice Kream, the dessert-named line of California's Joke's Up Exotics, made in collaboration with Nigerian artist Burna Boy. It grew out of BRKFST, the cannabis brand Burna Boy unveiled on October 7, 2022, in South Beach during Miami Carnival.
The flower reached East Coast shelves within months. The Highest Critic reviewed a bag from SkyClub NYC, a members-only shop in Queens, in February 2023. Toker's Guide followed in June 2023 with a jar from Hotbox Uptown, a Washington, DC, storefront.
Breakfast as a metaphor for heartbreak
The BRKFST name comes from "Last Last," the hit single from Burna Boy's album Love, Damini. The song uses breakfast as a metaphor for heartbreak, and the cannabis brand borrowed the word for its label.
The timing was sharp. Love, Damini arrived in July 2022 and became the highest-debuting Nigerian album on the Billboard 200. "Last Last" later won Song of the Year and Afrobeats Single of the Year at The Headies 2023.
The brand launched at the all-white Tipsy Music Festival at Bayfront Park, part of Miami Carnival. Attendees saw BRKFST merchandise while Burna Boy's catalog played. The unveiling came one day after President Biden pardoned federal offenders convicted of simple cannabis possession.
Joke's Up and the Ice Kream line
Joke's Up operates as Joke's Up Exotics, a California brand that works heavily through collaborations. Its catalog runs from Toast Up in 2021 to Payd with Payd Genetics, Puffport with Jet Flozo and Green Men in 2024. Ice Kream is the sub-brand that carried the Burna Boy drop.
The Highest Critic credits the release to Joke's Up Ice Kream, Burna Boy and the Ice Kream Shop together. That makes All American Brkfst a three-way project: a global artist, a California exotics brand and its shop-facing label. Toker's Guide likewise lists Jokes Up! and Burna Boy as the collaborators behind the cultivar.
A pancake bag and purple flower
Packaging carried the breakfast theme. The Highest Critic's sample came in a 7g mylar bag the reviewer called a "pancake bag," with a detailed design across the opening. It belongs to the same wave that turned cannabis mylar into collectible art.
Inside, Toker's Guide found mostly purple, hand-trimmed buds stacked with heavy white trichomes. The Highest Critic described dense flower showing typical features of Runtz, the Zkittlez and Gelato cross made by the Cookies Fam.
The two reviews split on classification. Toker's Guide ran it as a balanced 50/50 hybrid, while The Highest Critic filed it as an indica-dominant hybrid.
How the reviews landed
Toker's Guide scored All American Brkfst 8.9 out of 10. The reviewer described an initial cerebral rush followed by a full-body euphoria. It hit heavy enough that gaming or streaming felt like the right pace, though motor coordination held up.
The Highest Critic was cooler on its bag, noting the flower looked past its prime on arrival. Even so, the dense structure and Runtz-style build came through. Together, the two write-ups track a single drop across two cities and two retail models, from a members-only club in Queens to a DC storefront.
That path fits the release. BRKFST began as a music-driven launch in Miami, then surfaced as a Joke's Up flower on New York and DC shelves within a year.
