Peaches and Cream is a sativa-dominant hybrid from Fresh Baked, the Long Beach, California flower brand whose cultivation is led by KRD. Fresh Baked's cultivator selected the seeds years ago, and the brand grows the plant indoors.
An October 2021 review on The Highest Critic called the Fresh Baked jar sticky and clean-burning. The reviewer, who had found some earlier Fresh Baked batches uneven, held this one up as an example of what the brand can do.
A Long Beach brand from the early 2000s
Fresh Baked started in the early 2000s, during California's medical era, and has since moved into the adult-use market. It still operates out of Long Beach.
The brand's rule is short: it packages only flower grown on its own farms, by its own farmers. Every plant is selected, hand watered and stacked in licensed Long Beach facilities. Fresh Baked sums up its approach as sophistication in simplicity, with the flower ahead of packaging and marketing.
KRD and the hand-watered rooms
KRD is Fresh Baked's Chief Cultivating Officer. The brand says he has spent more than 20 years hunting, trading and breeding the genetics in its collection, and Peaches and Cream is one of those selections.
KRD's own site describes a small-batch, hand-grown operation in Long Beach that avoids pesticides and chemicals. The same site lists Cherry Fritter, Apple Fritter, Orange Cookie Dough and Versace among the strains it has grown, and says the operation has been growing for more than 30 years.
Dense buds with purple undertones
Fresh Baked's Peaches and Cream sells by the eighth. A Los Angeles delivery listing describes dense buds with purple undertones, thick trichome coverage and prominent orange stigmas. It lists the flower as indoor grown and free of pesticides, mold and heavy metals.
The Highest Critic's reviewer found the buds sticky enough to stand out and noted a clean burn. Flavor ran from subtle peach into a toasted, almost nutty finish.
Effects in that review came through as talkative, euphoric and mentally engaging. The delivery listing tags the strain as relaxing, happy and quick to arrive.
The reviewer admitted a love-hate relationship with Fresh Baked, citing past jars with harsh smoke and grey ash. This batch reversed that: sticky, smooth, clean-burning and, in the review's words, a great high overall. The reviewer still stopped short of calling it a repeat purchase.
Big Buddha's Skunk-line Peaches & Cream
The name also belongs to a separate plant from Big Buddha Seeds, and The Highest Critic's reviewer noted that Fresh Baked's version differs from it. Seedfinder lists Big Buddha's Peaches & Cream as a mostly sativa Skunk phenotype, sold only as feminized seed for indoor or outdoor grows.
That line descends from Skunk #1, which traces to Afghan indica, Colombian sativa and Mexican sativa. Leafly lists it near 11% THC, led by myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene.
Big Buddha's buds turn a soft pink-orange as they mature, with bright amber hairs. Leafly credits the Skunk line as a parent of Fuzzy Navel and Peachy Mack.
