Cherry Fritter is a hybrid grown and sold by Fresh Baked, the California flower brand behind a run of dessert-named cultivars. It crosses Cherry Pie with Apple Fritter, and it has stayed on Fresh Baked's menu for years.
That staying power is the headline. OG Nation's 2022 review notes that Fresh Baked calls Cherry Fritter a staple that has been in rotation for years, and the strain has since moved beyond flower into partner concentrates and cartridges.
Cherry Pie meets Apple Fritter
Cherry Pie comes from Granddaddy Purple and F1 Durb. Leafly lists it as a balanced hybrid that flowers in 7–9 weeks. It trains well as a multi-branched plant or in a sea of green setup and forms dense buds with orange hairs and purple undertones.
Apple Fritter was created by Lumpy's Flowers from Sour Apple and Animal Cookies. It is a balanced hybrid that flowers in 8–9 weeks, rated moderately difficult with a medium yield. Its dark green buds carry a coating of trichomes and orange hairs.
Leafly files Cherry Fritter itself as a hybrid without naming a breeder and notes it is not widely available. Weedmaps credits Fresh Baked as the brand and describes a balanced hybrid.
How the plant grows
Weedmaps lists Cherry Fritter as a medium-sized plant that flowers in 56–63 days indoors. Outdoors, it finishes between early and mid-October. The same listing says it can produce large harvests under the right conditions and grows well both indoors and outdoors. Cherry Fritter also circulates as clones.
Three reviews, three harvests
West Coast Weed Reviews picked up a Fresh Baked eighth in June 2020 and posted its take that August. The flower tested at 27% THC and showed semi-dense buds in asparagus and emerald greens with aubergine and midnight blue accents. It sold for $50–$55 at Long Beach shops.
The Highest Critic reviewed a Fresh Baked gram in September 2020 from The Artist Tree. That batch tested at 28.05% THC and 32.57% total cannabinoids, with dark, frosty, tight buds. The reviewer scored it 6/10 and found the cure a tad dry.
OG Nation's June 2022 review graded a Maywood eighth at A-minus. The jar held one large dense nug and two mediums, with willow green leaves and stacks of orange pistils. Total cannabinoids came in at 42%, and the reviewer rated it heavy in strength.
Two of the three reviewers found it sedating. West Coast Weed Reviews described a fast onset and deep couch-lock, and OG Nation noted swift drowsiness and body heaviness. The Highest Critic rated its batch average in strength.
From Fresh Baked flower to concentrates
Cherry Fritter has traveled well outside Fresh Baked jars. ColdFire released Cherry Fritter Juice, a 1 g cartridge made as a collaboration with Fresh Baked. ColdFire makes it as a cold-processed concentrate with no distillate or additives, and its Juice line carries more than 5% terpenes.
Summit Boys also runs the cultivar as Cherry Fritter Caviar Batter, a 1 g solvent concentrate sold under its Caviar name.
Fresh Baked has kept building on the cherry theme in flower. Cherry Cookie Cake, a Cherry Cookies and Wedding Cake cross, is another Fresh Baked house cultivar with a cherry parent at its core.
