Sherbacio is an indica from Alien Labs, built from Sunset Sherbet and Gelato #41. Alien Labs released it in the 2018–2019 stretch that also brought Melonade, Area 41 and Baklava.
The brand pitches it as the classic umami side of Gelato and Sunset Sherbet, with better bag appeal than either parent on its own. It later took first place in the greenhouse flower category at the 2021 Oregon Growers Cup, grown by Oregon's The Plant.
Ted Lidie and the Alien Labs build
Ted Lidie launched Alien Labs in 2013. He had moved from Redding to San Francisco in 2008 and came away convinced that the future of cannabis would be in branding, not just growing great flower.
Back in Redding, he made the brand official. Alien Labs entered the legal market in 2017 through a partnership with Connected Cannabis Co., and it still operates under Connected International's California licenses.

Sunset Sherbet meets Gelato #41
Sunset Sherbet is Mr. Sherbinski's cross of Girl Scout Cookies × Pink Panties. Leafly describes oblong, fluffy buds with rich trichome coverage and dark amber hairs, and credits it as a parent of Gelato and Lemon Cherry Gelato.
Gelato #41 comes from Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Alien Labs grows it as a slightly indica-dominant daytime hybrid, and it won first place for indica at the first legal California Cannabis Cup held by High Times.
That makes Sherbacio a cross back into its own family. Sunset Sherbet appears on both sides, once as a direct parent and again as a parent of Gelato #41.
Picky in the garden, loud in the jar
Alien Labs is upfront about the plant's temperament. Sherbacio is picky about its light schedule and does not want heavy feeding, so it rewards growers who dial in the environment and keep nutrients moderate.
The payoff is in the look. Weedmaps describes forest green buds spotted with deep purple and covered in amber-tinted trichomes. Leafly adds that the dense buds show rich purple hues and glisten with trichomes.
Beta-caryophyllene, d-limonene and alpha-humulene lead the terpene profile, the same three Alien Labs lists for Gelato #41. Leafly users describe sweet candy up front with a gassy finish.
An energetic indica on paper
Alien Labs classifies Sherbacio as an indica, while Leafly and Weedmaps list it as a hybrid. Leafly places it at 18% THC.
User reports lean energetic rather than sleepy. Leafly reviewers most often call it euphoric, talkative and uplifting, and one reviewer says it hit far harder than its THC number suggests. Weedmaps users add relaxed, happy and creative to the list.
From the 2018–2019 drops to Oregon
Sherbacio arrived in the 2018–2019 run alongside Melonade, Area 41 and Baklava. Those releases came before Lidie committed to breeding everything in-house going forward.
The cultivar has also traveled beyond California. The Plant grew the Oregon expression that won greenhouse flower at the 2021 Oregon Growers Cup.
