Super Lemon Haze is a sativa-dominant hybrid from Green House Seed Company, bred in the late 2000s from Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze. Green House lists the balance at 70% sativa and 30% indica.
The strain took first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in both 2008 and 2009, then kept collecting trophies across Europe and the US for years after.
A cup record that runs from Amsterdam to Seattle
Green House says Super Lemon Haze became a hit as soon as it joined the High Times Cannabis Cup. Its back-to-back wins in 2008 and 2009 were followed by second place at the same event in 2010.
That same year it took first at the IC420 Growers Cup. In 2012 it won the Seattle Medical Cup, and it placed first and second at ExpoGrow in Irún, Spain, across 2012 and 2013.
The run mirrors its Super Silver Haze parent, which won first prize at the High Times Cannabis Cup three years straight, in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze
Lemon Skunk comes from DNA Genetics, which built it from two hand-selected Skunk #1 phenotypes. Leafly describes it as a heavy-yielding, multi-branch plant with orange and green buds, a high calyx-to-leaf ratio and a 7–9 week flowering period.
Super Silver Haze is Green House's own sativa, bred from Skunk, Northern Lights and Haze. Leafly recommends it for outdoor growing in equatorial regions, and it responds well to screen of green and low stress training.
Leafly credits Super Silver Haze with two well-known offspring: Super Lemon Haze and Super Sour Diesel. Lemon Skunk also sits behind Lemon Haze, making both parents repeat contributors to the citrus-and-Haze family.
Growing a Christmas tree with Haze stretch
Green House describes a Christmas-tree shape with vigorous stretch. The plant can double in size during flowering, so it grows medium-tall indoors and tall outdoors, where it needs support.
Long, wide branches make it a natural fit for ScrOG or LST. Indoors it flowers in about 10 weeks and yields up to 800 g/m². Outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere it finishes in mid-October, with yields up to 1,200 g per plant.
The flowers are rounder and more compact than a classic long Haze, with bigger calyxes covered in sticky resin. Green House recommends it for equatorial, tropical, subtropical and temperate climates.
Weedmaps puts the flowering time at roughly 77 days and suggests an extra week for full terpene development. It also recommends hydroponic systems and low stress training for the heaviest harvests.
Terpenes, potency and effects
Green House tested one batch at 26.33% THC, 0.21% CBD and 1.15% CBN. Leafly lists a more typical 19% THC, while Weedmaps gives a range of 18–27%.
Beta-caryophyllene, d-limonene and terpinolene lead the terpene profile. Green House calls the result a mix of both parents, with lemon zest up front and pine behind it.
Users describe an energetic, focused and uplifted high. Weedmaps reviewers note that the character shifts by cut, from clear-headed sociability to a more intense, creative mental push.
Autoflower and CBD spin-offs
Green House has extended the line beyond the original feminized seed. Crossing Super Lemon Haze with ruderalis produced an autoflowering version, and pairing it with high-CBD males produced a CBD-rich variant.
