Watermelon on its own is a separate cultivar with its own history, including a DNA Genetics release, so a pack labelled Watermelon x Runtz is not automatically this plant. The full parent name is the identifier.
This kind of shortening happens constantly across the modern menu, where a long cross name gets trimmed to fit a label and the trimmed version travels as though it were the original.

Silent Seeds is a Dutch seed company, and it lists Watermelon Runtz in its exotic feminized collection. The cross sits squarely inside the candy-fruit breeding wave that has dominated seed catalogues since Runtz broke through.
