Bosky Genetics is a small-batch indoor cannabis brand out of Woodlake, California, that breeds its own genetics instead of running somebody else's cuts. The grow is a climate-controlled indoor build in Tulare County, and the strain list is the whole pitch — proprietary crosses, long pheno hunts, and flavor chased on purpose.
Small Town, Big Genetics
Woodlake signed off on the Bosky Genetics facility in July 2021 — a purpose-built warehouse on Lago Avenue set up for climate-controlled growing. State licensing followed, with a Specialty Indoor cultivation license issued at the end of November 2022. That is a build-it-yourself origin story rather than a brand bolted onto someone else's farm.
The operating principle they state plainly is quality over quantity: thoughtful drops, careful selection, and genetics bred in-house rather than bought in. Growth has been steady rather than loud — new formats and new shelves added without changing the size of a run.
What's in the Jar
Flower is the core: eighths in glass jars, quarters and half-ounces in the Skull Bags, and one-gram singles for people who would rather mix and match than commit. The first pre-roll arrived on a December drop — a 1.5-gram whole-nug joint with a reusable glass tip, rolled in partnership with Luxe Roll Bar.
Hash and rosin show up through collaborations rather than an in-house extraction line — a resin run with Friendly Brand built on the Guava Berry cut, and rosin work alongside Kalya.
Flavor is the whole selection criterion. Soap x Odder Popz #29 is the one they point to — gas on the inhale, dried fruit and sage through the middle, a creamy caramel fade on the exhale. That kind of layered profile is what the pheno hunting is actually for.
The Genetics Rabbit Hole
In-house breeding is where it gets interesting. Kookieland — Do-Si-Dos crossed to a King Kandy male, itself Forum Cookies x Candyland — has been pushed to F3. Guavascotti pairs a female Guava Runtz with a reversed Biscotti BX1. Cherry Zeltzer stacks Cherry Pie, Z and Biscotti.
The library also runs on trades and gifts between breeders, which is how this culture has always worked. Point Break came through Oakfruitland, who were handed the original Surfer Seeds genetics; a verified Zkittlez cut arrived the same way. Sour Peeps and Marshmallow OG x Sour OG trace to Crockett Family Farms, and Happy Hour (Tea Time x Zangria) to Wizard Trees.
Soap x Odder Popz #29 came out of a 2023 Champelli pheno hunt with Evermore Genetics — Animal Mintz x Kush Mintz crossed into Pan Dulce x Gelato, finished indoors. Key Lime Pie started as a pack of Purple Caper Seeds picked up at a San Francisco Terpnami.
Gold at the State Fair
Diamond OG took Gold at the 2026 California State Fair Cannabis Awards, winning the limonene category in Indoor Flower — an official State Fair gold medal, on the same agricultural stage as the state's other crops.
Where to Find It
Distribution runs through California retail, with a Fresno and Central Valley base and a statewide push into more than 20 STIIIZY stores. Their own store locator is the fastest way to check what is actually on a shelf near you, since drops are small and move quickly.
The High Rise Read
Breeder-first brands are easy to claim and hard to prove. Bosky proves it in public — cross by cross, pheno by pheno, with the collaborators named. The staff-pick series running on their site is the tell: people who work there talking about specific cultivars, not a marketing department talking about lifestyle.
If you are shopping California craft and want the cultivar to be the reason you bought it, start with whatever they just dropped.
