How the brand was built
A 2021 Cannabis Business Times profile credits Daniel "Danny" Wise with building the California chain and settling on "The Cake House" after finding that "Cake" alone was difficult to protect as intellectual property. Charlena Berry, then chief operating officer, led much of the retail-brand development. The initials TCH deliberately echo THC, and the teal visual system was drawn from mid-century Chevrolet paint colors. San Bernardino license revocation
On March 18, 2026, the California Department of Cannabis Control revoked retailer license C10-0001386-LIC, held by SB Pharma Holdings Inc. doing business as The Row House and Cake House at 1975 Diners Court in San Bernardino, effective April 17, 2026. The default decision names Joseph Mierau and Ryan Mierau as owners and sustained six violations, among them expired cannabis goods, missing video surveillance and child-attractive products.
