Emerald Farm Tours runs guided cannabis trips out of the San Francisco Bay Area, from Mendocino County farm days with hash-making demos to walking tours of San Francisco's lounges and cannabis history. Founded in 2018 and led by Victor Pinho, it bills itself as the city's first cannabis tourism company. It sells access and education, not weed, and every tour is 21 and up.
Victor Pinho and the four values
Pinho came to tourism with more than 20 years in the cannabis industry, which the company pitches as an insider's perspective for guests. He started Emerald Farm Tours in 2018, and it is based in Castro Valley, California.
The company organizes itself around four values. Exploration means an authentic look at California's cannabis culture; Education means preserving and protecting that heritage; Justice means advocating for sensible cannabis policy and criminal justice reform; and Quality means friendly, personalized hospitality.
Mendocino farm days and hash
The flagship trip leaves downtown San Francisco at 8 a.m. for a legacy farm in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County: about nine hours of cultivation talk, a walk through a hashery where old-school hash is made and pressed, solventless hash samples and a sandwich lunch. A three-hour version starts in downtown Ukiah. Both are priced per group, at $1,050 and $650 for two guests plus $100 for each extra, and the 2026 farm season books by phone.
Some farm tours run only from April through October, tracking the outdoor season. Vans are Mercedes Sprinters with power outlets, USB charging and Wi-Fi, and nobody smokes aboard; consumption happens only at stops designated for it. Tours need at least 72 hours' notice, cannot be booked same-day and are non-refundable once confirmed.
Anderson Valley, Humboldt and the seed-to-sale route
Weed, Wine & Wilderness is a nine-hour day from downtown San Francisco to Anderson Valley: a local wine tasting room, a working cannabis farm among the coastal redwoods with time to hike, a picnic lunch with local wines and a stop at The Bohemian Chemist dispensary in Philo. A self-drive version starts in Boonville.
Waves, Woods & Weed stretches to three days and two nights in Humboldt, pairing family farm visits with the Avenue of the Giants, the Lost Coast, Black Sand Beach and a stay at the Benbow Historic Inn.
The Indoor Seed-to-Sale Tour, offered in limited runs between November and April, follows the plant through three partner facilities: Dark Heart Nursery's clone operation, concentrate maker Jetty Extracts and the dispensary Harborside.
San Francisco on foot
In the city, the lineup runs to walking tours. The North Beach and Marina Pizza & Pot tours cost $125; the North Beach route pairs a dispensary stop and pizza from a North Beach pizzeria with stories of cannabis and the Beat Generation. The Fisherman's Wharf Cannabis & Coffee Tour starts with an Irish coffee, or a non-alcoholic drink, before cannabis education and discounted shopping, all in under two hours.
The Market Street Cannabis Lounge Crawl covers two mid-Market dispensary-lounges in less than half a mile, and the two-hour Castro District Cannabis History Tour walks about a mile through the neighborhood's part in the medical cannabis fight; those three city walks run $95 each. A private three-hour van tour takes in City Hall, the Castro and Hippie Hill with stops at three consumption lounges.
Where the city tours started
The city tours go back to the company's first year. When Leafly profiled them in 2018, the route opened and closed at SPARC and Barbary Coast, two San Francisco dispensary-lounges, with stops at Hippie Hill, the Haight-Ashbury house the Grateful Dead occupied during the Summer of Love, and the Castro home of cannabis pioneer Dennis Peron. Pinho walked guests through products and delivery options while co-guide Fatty Jay taught the history of prohibition.
The Special Bus, limos and private groups
Beyond scheduled tours, the company rents out The Special Bus, a 40-foot mobile lounge with upholstered seating, a big sound system and mood lighting. It began life as the Yard Dogs Road Show tour bus, and Emerald Farm Tours says it has hosted George Clinton and Cara Delevingne at events including Burning Man and Coachella. It stays parked at the venue as a consumption-friendly lounge, with rentals starting at $4,000.
A 10-passenger stretch limo and Sprinter vans handle parties, industry events and conferences around the Bay Area. Custom private tours cover bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, fundraisers and corporate groups, with routes through indoor and outdoor farms, dispensaries, manufacturers and head shops, and upgrades up to 54-passenger buses.
Brunch & Beats and High On Tour
In February 2026 Emerald Farm Tours announced Brunch & Beats, a second-Sunday residency at Moe Greens in San Francisco pairing DJ sets with brunch, starting March 8 with DJ Dick Steves and Oakland Extracts. Entry takes a valid 21+ ID and an in-store purchase, since only cannabis bought on site can be consumed in the lounge.
Pinho also co-hosts the High On Tour podcast with April Black of Higher Way Travel in Paso Robles, interviewing people from the weed tourism world. Guests have included Craig Nejedly of Talking Trees Farms and Space Gems, Aaron Salles of MOCA Humboldt on legacy indoor flower, and Stephen Morning Glory of Heritage Hash Co on hash making.
