Jetty Extracts is a California-born cannabis extraction company founded in San Diego in 2013. The brand is known for solventless rosin vapes, live resin, concentrates, infused pre-rolls and oil applicators, with licensed availability in California, Colorado and New York. Canopy USA acquired a controlling interest in the operating company in 2024.
Founders and early history
Ron Gershoni, Nate Ferguson and Rob Ferguson founded Jetty after recognizing that early cannabis vape hardware and oil left room for major improvement. Nate had dispensary experience, while the other founders came from different small-business backgrounds. They financed extraction equipment and built the brand around oil formulation, hardware and repeatable manufacturing rather than a single famous cultivar.
Solventless program
Jetty’s solventless line starts with fresh-frozen cannabis and separates trichomes using ice and water before heat and pressure produce rosin. Current formats include live-rosin vapes, concentrates and cold-water-hash infused pre-rolls. “Solventless” describes the extraction method; it does not mean risk-free, and it should not be confused with hydrocarbon-made live resin.
Live resin and other oils
The broader catalog includes live-resin cartridges and all-in-ones, high-THC oil products and concentrates. Jetty also uses the Dablicator for measured oil dispensing. Formulas vary by state and category, so claims about no fillers or specific terpene handling must be matched to the named line rather than applied automatically to every product carrying the logo.
OCal certification
In 2022 Jetty announced OCal certification for its solventless manufacturing process, and California’s current approved-manufacturer list identifies Ametrine Wellness doing business as Jetty Extracts. OCal is California’s comparable-to-organic cannabis program; it is not federal USDA Organic certification. The certification applies to registered operations and qualifying products, not every Jetty item in every state.
Farm and sustainability model
Jetty says it partners with sun-grown California farms using regenerative practices and has used farm-specific material for solventless releases. Its packaging initiatives include recyclable tins and selected lower-impact components. Those commitments are best evaluated on named suppliers and certified products; a general sustainability statement does not prove an identical practice across all licensed partners.
Markets and store access
The official locator lists licensed medical and adult-use dispensaries in California, Colorado and New York. Jetty has also announced limited partner launches in other states, but current locator coverage is the more reliable consumer guide. Interstate transfer is not available, and each state’s processor, formula, hardware and testing system may differ.
Ownership change
Canopy USA completed the acquisition of approximately 77 percent of Lemurian, Inc., Jetty’s operating company, in June 2024. By December 2024 Canopy described Jetty as one of three core U.S. business units alongside Wana and Acreage. The founders still guide the brand publicly, but Jetty is no longer accurately described as wholly independent.
Verified awards
Banana Creme Solventless Vape won first place for Best Indica Vape Pen at the 2021 Northern California High Times Cannabis Cup. Fatso Solventless Vape placed second at the 2022 Emerald Cup, and Jetty reported three 2023 Emerald Cup placements, including first for Super Lemon Haze live-resin concentrate. These are product-specific results, not blanket certification.
How to evaluate Jetty. Consumers should first identify the extraction type—solventless rosin, live resin or another oil—then confirm the state license, batch test and hardware format. The company has a documented founder history, certification record, acquisition and competition results. Those facts are stronger than generic purity language, which still depends on the exact product and jurisdiction.
