Petra is Kiva Confections' microdose mint line: pressed mints in a pocket-sized tin, each piece carrying 2.5mg of THC or less. Forty mints come in a pack, so a dose is one small decision instead of a whole evening. It is the most controllable edible format Kiva makes.

Six flavours run the line. Moroccan Mint blends matcha green tea with peppermint extract and light notes of Tahitian vanilla. Tart Cherry and Pineapple sit at the sweeter, fruit-forward end of the range. Cinnamon CBD 1:1 uses Saigon cinnamon and pairs 2.5mg of THC with 2.5mg of CBD in every mint.

Citrus CBD goes the other direction, with 2.5mg of CBD and under 0.2mg of THC per piece, a lemon-and-lime mint built around flavour more than lift. Blackberry CBN puts 1mg of CBN alongside 2.5mg of THC, with blackberry and vanilla on top.

Formulation splits by flavour. Moroccan Mint, Cinnamon CBD 1:1 and Blackberry CBN are sugar-free and plant-based, built on xylitol and sweetened with stevia. Tart Cherry, Pineapple and Citrus CBD use sucrose and maltodextrin instead. Every mint weighs 0.75g, and the full-THC flavours carry 100mg of THC across the tin.

The spec is the point. A 2.5mg piece is a genuinely small unit, which is a different proposition from cutting a 10mg gummy into quarters and hoping. Kiva holds the same self-imposed potency, production, packaging and testing standards across all of its lines, and publishes lab testing for what it sells.

Kiva Confections started in 2010, after Scott and Kristi Palmer came home from a visit to a local chocolatier and began making the first Kiva Bars in their own kitchen. The company now employs more than 400 people and runs a family of edible brands: Kiva chocolate bars, Terra bites, Camino gummies, Lost Farm live-resin chews and Petra.

Production is handled state by state, so a Petra tin is made in the state where it is sold and cannabinoid content shifts a little with it. The Petra flavour pages list California availability, and Kiva's wider retail network reaches licensed stores in Arizona, Nevada, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Missouri, New Mexico and Florida. The California licence is CDPH-10004315.

Our read: Petra is the edible for people who actually have things to do. Microdosing became a marketing word years after Petra was already engineering around 2.5mg pieces rather than shaving down a 10mg gummy, and that head start shows in how boring the experience is, in the good way. Same tin, same behaviour, every time.

We rate it hardest as a social object. A tin of mints reads as a tin of mints. It moves around a skate session or a backyard without any explanation, and it lets everyone take exactly as much as they want to. The CBD and CBN flavours widen that range at both ends of a day.

Kiva's own Petra pages carry the full flavour line-up with per-mint cannabinoid numbers, ingredients and nutrition panels for each tin, plus a store finder that shows which licensed retailers and delivery services near you keep them stocked. Start there if you want to know what is on shelves in your state right now.
