What Sunset Connect is

Sunset Connect is a San Francisco cannabis manufacturer and social-equity operator founded by Ali Jamalian. Its current consumer site is sharply focused on Fulton 5'ers, single one-gram pre-rolls made with indoor flower. Historically the company has also manufactured flower, infused pre-rolls, edibles and topicals.

Founder Ali Jamalian

Jamalian was born in Iran, raised in Germany and attended the University of San Francisco. He has described early cannabis cultivation and sales, a 1999 federal-property possession arrest and near-deportation, and a return to San Francisco's medical market in 2011. Customers in the Sunset District gave the operation its name.

From medical market to licensed business

Sunset Connect grew from a neighborhood medical-era network into a licensed SoMa manufacturing and distribution operation. The current site lists California license C11-0001253-LIC. A license number is important identity evidence but should still be checked in the state database for present status and authorized activities.

Social-equity status

San Francisco's equity program is designed to reduce barriers for people and communities harmed by cannabis criminalization. Sunset Connect identifies as one of the city's original equity operators, and independent reporting described Jamalian as its first licensed equity manufacturing owner. Equity status is part of the operating history, not a substitute for product quality.

Fulton 5'ers

The current house product is the Fulton 5'er: a one-gram pre-roll built from indoor flower and sold as a straightforward repeat-purchase joint. Blend or cultivar, potency and package date vary. Shoppers should inspect the label rather than assuming every Fulton 5'er has the same chemistry or farm source.

Historical product range

A 2020 profile documented whole flower, all-bud pre-rolls, solventless-hash-infused pre-rolls, a topical gel and sour gummies, with cultivars including Lava Dawg, Strawpicanna, Jungle Cake and Dosi-Pie. That list establishes past capability; the brand's present site no longer presents all those categories as current.

Manufacturing and partnerships

Sunset Connect has described its facility as a platform for San Francisco-made products and collaborations. A 2026 founder interview also discusses partner brands and distribution relationships. When another label is involved, the package should distinguish brand owner, cultivator, manufacturer and distributor rather than collapsing them into Sunset Connect.

Civic leadership and policy work

Jamalian has served in San Francisco cannabis oversight and state advisory roles. City records identify him as founder and chief cannabis officer and document his participation in tax, equity and legal-market policy. Committee service is public-policy experience, not a commercial endorsement by the city or state.

It distinguishes present focus from the broader 2020 catalog. No complete current ownership, retailer, revenue, awards, laboratory, partner-brand or recall ledger was established.
