Wonderbrett

Wonderbrett is a Long Beach flower house built on one of California's great origin stories: in the summer of 1997 founder Brett was gifted the original OG Kush cut, and by 1999 he was among the most respected growers in Los Angeles. That reputation, earned decades before legalization, is what the modern licensed brand stands on.

From legacy grower to licensed house

The company carried rare genetics and decades of cultivation experience straight into California's legal market, which is a harder transition than it sounds — most legacy operators lost their cuts on the way through licensing. Wonderbrett traces a straight line from that original OG Kush to a state-of-the-art licensed facility.

The genetics library was developed over more than two decades, and it is the real asset. Strain selection is built around terpene expression and full-bodied flavor rather than chasing potency numbers.

The Long Beach facility

Cultivation happens at the brand's Long Beach facility, one of the largest indoor grows in North America, engineered to produce small-batch craft flower at scale. Custom irrigation pairs modern control systems with time-tested growing technique, with the whole operation built for clean, safe, consistent harvests.

Running craft standards at that square footage is the interesting problem here, and it is the thing that separates Wonderbrett from both boutique rooms and commodity growers.

Who it's for

Wonderbrett caters to buyers who care about terpene profile, flavor and the history behind a cut — people who want to know where a strain came from and who held it. If you shop on THC percentage alone, this is not the brand built for you, and it is not trying to be.

Where to find it

Available at licensed retailers in California and, since summer 2025, New Jersey — the brand's first move outside California and its cultivation program's East Coast expansion. 21+ only.

The High Rise read

Legacy claims are cheap in cannabis and most of them do not survive a follow-up question. Wonderbrett's holds up: the genetics, the grower and the standard are the same ones, protected for more than two decades. That is LA cannabis history still operating as a business rather than trading on a story.
