Fat Berries is a cold cure live rosin from Punch Extracts, the solventless concentrate arm of California edibles maker Punch Edibles & Extracts. It is pressed from fresh frozen cannabis without solvents, cutting agents or additives, then finished as a cold cure batter.
The release had a public shelf moment in June 2021. Purple Lotus in San Jose listed Fat Berries as one of five Punch cold cure live rosins in its Father's Day dab lineup, alongside Bomb Mints, Fruity P., Orange Punch Berries and Papaya Mintz.
From the PunchBar to a solventless line
Punch started in 2013 with a single goal: an edible that was flavorful, sensibly sized, potent and consistent. The answer was the PunchBar, a segmented chocolate that grew into six product lines and 30 chocolate bars. Gummies, malt balls, vapes and pre-rolls followed.
Punch Extracts now runs as its own division with its own storefront. Its menu splits into solventless, vape, distillate and Rocket, a pre-roll that pairs 1.3g of flower with 0.3g of live rosin. Fat Berries belongs to the solventless side, the part of the catalog built entirely on live rosin.
The company sells in California, Oklahoma and New York, with product in hundreds of California dispensaries. Its Punch Cares program donates cannabis chocolates to California veterans.
How Punch presses its live rosin
Punch works only in live rosin. The process starts with fresh frozen flower instead of dried and cured buds, a choice meant to hold on to terpenes that break down at room temperature. That frozen material is washed with ultra purified ice and water to separate the resin glands.
The collected resin is dried into hash. The hash is then pressed through a fine mesh bag with heat and pressure, which squeezes out the oil and leaves plant matter behind. Punch runs that work in a climate controlled room.
No chemical solvent touches the material at any stage, and nothing is added back after pressing. Punch describes the finished rosin as a full spectrum concentrate made from flower or hash.
Cold cure batter and fresh press
Every Punch rosin release comes in one of two finishes: fresh press or cold cure batter. Both start from the same pressed hash oil. The difference is the handling after the press, which sets the final texture in the jar.
Fat Berries is a cold cure. On Weedmaps, Punch's rosin catalog lists both finishes side by side, labeled Cold Cure Badder and Fresh Press, in 1g and 4g jars. The same menu shows how many fruit and berry names the brand rotates through, from Berry Runtz and Berry Sweetz to Bahama Bananaz.
What the Punch tiers say about Fat Berries
Punch sorts its rosin into tiers, and the tier number rides on every jar. Punch Extracts currently lists its solventless line in four tiers.
The earlier system was simpler. A January 2021 review on Dab Connection described three tiers set by how the starting flower was grown: Tier 1 from indoor, Tier 2 from greenhouse and Tier 3 from outdoor, sun-grown plants. That review covered Modified Strawberries, a Punch fresh press that tested at 81.62% THC, and priced its Tier 3 jar at $50 or less before tax.
Fat Berries shared that 2021 Purple Lotus shelf with Orange Punch Berries, another berry-named Punch cold cure. Purple Lotus framed the whole set as coming from the concentrate arm of the company behind the Punch Bar.
