FatLato is a live rosin from Punch Extracts, the solventless arm of the California company that started out as Punch Edibles. It has been sold in two textures: a fresh press that stays glassy and clear, and a cold cure that sets into a soft, wet-looking badder.
Its most notable moment came early. In February 2021, the solventless review site Hashwriter used FatLato as a lead example when it welcomed Punch Extracts to the rosin game, photographing a Tier One jar at several stages of the cure.
From chocolate bars to solventless rosin
Punch began in 2013, when the company set out to make compact, potent edibles at fair prices. The PunchBar range grew to six product lines and 30 different chocolate bars, sold through hundreds of California dispensaries.
The company later broadened into concentrates, flower, vapes and pre-rolls. Leafly lists licenses in California, Oklahoma and New York. Its concentrate catalog now runs from live rosin and badder to hydrocarbon products, and the full range sits under Punch Edibles & Extracts.
Hashwriter framed the solventless move as a pivot away from edibles. The review credited Punch with bringing flower from Humboldt into its lineup and with using automation to keep prices competitive.
How Punch makes FatLato
Live rosin starts with fresh-frozen plants rather than dried flower. Leafly describes the first step as ice water extraction: frozen material is agitated in ice water to knock trichomes loose, then filtered through a series of finer and finer mesh bags.
The resulting hash is pressed with heat and pressure to release the oil. No butane, propane or other chemical solvent touches it, which is what separates live rosin from live resin. Punch sells its rosin with no cutting agents or additives.
From there, FatLato can go two ways. Fresh press rosin is packed right after pressing. Cold cure rosin is aged cold after pressing, which Leafly credits with a more stable texture at room temperature and better terpene preservation.

Hashwriter's photos show the difference. The Tier One fresh press FatLato stayed clear and translucent, the look of rosin that has not started to set up. A second jar sat midway through the buddering process, clouding as it cured.
The finished cold cure showed a clear terpene layer and kept a wet look, which the reviewer called the mark of a properly executed cold cure badder. Punch still offers its live rosin both ways, as fresh press or cold cure batter.
The same review paired FatLato with Garlic Cream, another Punch release sampled as a cold cure rosin badder. That jar has its own profile as Garlic Cream badder.
Four tiers of Punch rosin
Punch sorts its solventless output into four tiers, and the tier appears in each jar's name. Hashwriter explained that the system gives shoppers several price points, with some tiers selling at noticeably lower rates.
All the samples Hashwriter received were Tier One. The reviewer also pointed to solid-looking Tier Two and Tier Three jars going for the most reasonable prices in the lineup.
Current menus show how wide the catalog has become. The Punch listing on Weedmaps includes Tier 4 rosin badders such as Moroccan Fatso, Gelato Beltz, Banana GMO and Garlic Mints, and Leafly lists Punch concentrates across Tiers 1–4.
