Garlic Cream is a cold cure rosin badder from Punch Extracts, the solventless concentrate line of California's Punch Edibles. It showed up in HashWriter's February 2021 review welcoming Punch Extracts to the hash rosin game. The jar shared that debut spotlight with FatLato fresh press and Garanimals badder.
HashWriter pictured it next to Garanimals, a cold cure hash rosin badder with a clear terpene layer. Both jars came from the same early push into ice-water hash.
From PunchBars to pressed hash
Punch Edibles launched in 2013 with the PunchBar, a compact, high-potency chocolate bar. Its edibles now span six lines and 30 chocolate bar varieties. The company grew into a California family of brands that includes Punch Extracts, Tempo and Dr Norms. HashWriter noted that the brand, long known for edibles, turned its focus toward solventless extraction.
Punch Extracts now bills itself as a craft solventless shop. Its catalog covers four categories: solventless rosin, vape, distillate and Rocket, a rosin-infused pre-roll. Punch Edibles products reach hundreds of dispensaries across California, and Garlic Cream sits on the solventless side of that catalog.
How Punch turns Humboldt flower into cold cure badder
Punch describes rosin as a full-spectrum concentrate made from flower or hash. For live rosin, fresh frozen flower is washed into hash with purified ice and water in a climate-controlled room. That hash is then pressed through fine mesh. The brand states its solventless jars carry no cutting agents or additives.
Finished rosin ships as either fresh press or cold cure badder. Garlic Cream is the cold cure version. HashWriter reported that Punch's 2021 releases were pressed from Humboldt flower. The review called Garlic Cream heavy on garlic with extra gas, and praised Punch's open-box packaging for putting the glass jar in full view.
The tier ladder behind every jar
Punch sorts its rosin into tiers by input material. In a January 2021 review, Dab Connection explained Tier 1 as indoor source material, Tier 2 as greenhouse and Tier 3 as outdoor, sun-grown flower. That review covered a Tier 3 fresh press of Modified Strawberries, which tested at 81.62% THC.
The ladder has grown since then. Punch's rosin page now lists four tiers, and the current Weedmaps catalog adds a Silver Tier on select cold cure badders. HashWriter's 2021 coverage described three tiers, with Tier 1 as the premium option and each tier at its own price point.
Dab Connection writer Ben Chu scored that Modified Strawberries jar 9.6 out of 10. He also noted it sold for about $50 or less before tax at most shops.
Garlic runs deep in the Punch badder lineup
Garlic Cream was an early garlic jar for Punch, and the name family has kept growing. The current Weedmaps list of Punch cold cure badders includes Garlic Mints, Garlic Z Fighter and White Garlic Z. Those sit next to fruit-leaning drops like Banana Yuzu, a Tier 1 badder listed at 66.6% THC.
The same catalog leans hard on mint crosses. Punch's Tier III Gush Mints live rosin pairs Durban Gushers with Kush Mints, pressed from frozen live plants without solvents.
