Fatso is a live rosin from Punch Extracts, the solventless side of Punch Edibles & Extracts. It is pressed from Fatso flower, the GMO Cookies × Legend OG cross that Colorado breeder Cannarado made with Phinest.
The cultivar was built for hash. Refined Genetics rates it a strong yielder with solventless returns above 5%, and California dispensaries have carried the Punch press in 1 g jars at Tier 2 and as Tier 4 badder.
How Punch presses its live rosin
Punch Extracts runs under the Punch Edibles Media, LLC name with a single banner: craft solventless extraction. Its live rosin starts with fresh frozen flower rather than cured buds, which keeps more of the plant's terpenes intact.
The frozen material is washed with ultra purified ice and water to make hash. That hash is then pressed through a fine mesh to pull out the rosin and leave the plant matter behind. Punch says the work happens in a climate-controlled room.
Finished rosin comes two ways, as a fresh press or as a cold cure batter. Punch sorts its small-batch solventless into four tiers, and the Fatso press has shown up in more than one of them. The company also sells vapes, distillate and Rocket pre-rolls alongside the solventless line. The parent brand started out on a simpler idea: sensibly sized, high-dose edibles at affordable prices.
Fatso, a Cannarado and Phinest cross
Fatso joins GMO Cookies with Legend OG. Refined Genetics credits the cross to Cannarado and Phinest and lists it as an indica-dominant hybrid testing at 25–30%+ THC.
Leafly names Cannarado as breeder and classifies Fatso as an indica averaging 28% THC and 1% CBG. Its top terpenes there are limonene, caryophyllene and myrcene. Leafly says the flower arrives covered in trichomes, which makes it a natural fit for hash, and lists FTO as an alternate name.
Leafly describes the flower as funky and fuel-tasting, a cross that caters to gas, Kush and Cookies fans alike. Its users report a heavy, sedating effect suited to the evening.
A heavy resin plant in the garden
Refined Genetics puts Fatso's flowering time at 70–80 days, depending on the environment. The plant grows hard in veg, with long internodal spacing and weaker than average branching, so it spends its energy on flowers instead of side growth.
Growers need to build a well-supported canopy before the flip. Fatso shows high stretch into flower and finishes with sticky, resinous buds.
It carries intermediate resistance to botrytis and powdery mildew. Refined Genetics says it performs better in temperate climates than in extremely hot, dry ones.
Fatso crosses across the Punch menu
