Who Makes It
Punch Extracts operates as Punch Edibles & Extracts out of Los Angeles, founded in 2013 and now running in California, Oklahoma, and New York. They started in edibles and expanded into concentrates, and their solventless line is graded on a Tier 1 through 4 system.
They work with named farm partners — Luma Farms, Redwood Valley Farms — and credit the farm on the jar. They also supplied the single-source hash for Dr. Norm's solventless hash peanut butter cup brownie, reported as the first solventless hash-infused brownie on the California market.
The Cross
GMO is Chemdawg D crossed with the GSC Forum cut. The name is short for garlic, mushroom, onion, which is about as truthful as strain naming ever gets, and the plant also travels as Chem Cookies and Garlic Cookies.
How It's Made
Rosin is pressed with heat and pressure, no hydrocarbon solvent. Hash rosin starts from ice-water hash rather than whole flower.
GMO is one of the few cultivars with a physical reason behind its wash reputation: its resin glands have thick cuticles and weak necks, so trichome heads detach cleanly in an ice-water wash instead of rupturing. Reported press yields from well-cured flower run 20 to 28 percent for experienced hashmakers. Caryophyllene leads its terpene panel, with limonene and myrcene behind it.
What It Left Behind
Its real footprint is as a parent and as a wash-room benchmark — GMO is where a lot of solventless producers go to prove they can press.
