Wedding Cake live rosin comes from Punch Extracts, the solventless line of Punch Edibles & Extracts. It is pressed from the Triangle Kush × Animal Mints cultivar that JBeezy bred at Seed Junky Genetics, and a Lake Elsinore dispensary has listed it as a Tier 2 live rosin badder in 1g jars.
The cultivar arrived with a big résumé. Leafly named Wedding Cake its 2019 Strain of the Year, counting it on more than 10,000 store menus across flower, dabs and cartridges.
JBeezy's Triangle Mints cross
Seed Junky started in a small California garage in the 2000s, and JBeezy, born Anthony Hart, runs its breeding. He crossed Triangle Kush with Animal Mints, and the plant first circulated as Triangle Mints. Leafly still lists Triangle Mints #23 and Pink Cookies, its Canadian name, as aliases for Wedding Cake flower.
Animal Mints is a cross of Animal Cookies and Sin Mint Cookies from Sin City Seeds. 808 Genetics says Jungle Boys and Berner gifted it the Wedding Cake cut in 2016. JBeezy's other credits include Ice Cream Cake, Kush Mints and The Soap.
Cup wins behind the 2019 title
Leafly's December 2019 announcement, written by Danté Jordan, credited JBeezy as the creator. It cited the strain's spread around the world, its cultural influence and its overall impact. Search interest had grown 100% year over year since early 2019.
The same piece logged competition results. Wedding Cake took first place in indica flower at the SoCal High Times Cannabis Cup and second in indica flower at the Seattle cup. It also placed second for vape pens and carts at the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup. That result already reached past flower into concentrates.
