The DaVinci IQ3 is a portable conduction vaporizer built around control and serviceable everyday parts. Its removable 21700 battery, adjustable airflow and separate cooling assembly give you several ways to configure the hardware. The tradeoff is upkeep: those accessible parts need cleaning, and a spare battery needs its own protected storage. This profile covers the standard Onyx model, SKU D3BLK.
DaVinci listed that exact variant at $299 and available on October 21, 2026. The useful question is whether you want its adjustments enough to maintain the complete kit. A larger oven alone does not settle that decision. Neither does a long feature list. The IQ3 makes the strongest case for someone who wants replaceable power and direct control over a dry-herb session.
What the IQ3 actually includes
The official Onyx listing identifies a 0.7-gram dry-herb oven and a brushed aluminum exterior. Published dimensions are 28 × 51.5 × 101 mm, with a listed weight of 8.4 ounces. Its zirconia and glass vapor path includes the removable Cool Core. Those specifications describe a substantial pocket device, rather than a tiny cartridge battery.
The standard package lists the IQ3, one 21700 battery, zirconia mouthpiece, Cool Core and 10 mm water-tool adapter. It also lists a six-foot USB-C cable, extra pick, steel-handled brush, stainless steel pod and extract kit. Three alcohol wipes, two stickers, a manual and registration card complete the current storefront list. The manual also identifies the installed zirconia Flavor Chamber.
One detail needs care before ordering extra pods. The current box list and the manual's box-content page specify one pod. A later manual page instead says two 0.3-gram pods, while the storefront describes a 0.2-gram capsule. Treat one pod as the listed package quantity; confirm the supplied capsule capacity with DaVinci if that detail matters. An additional pod is not a verified inclusion.
A wall power adapter, external battery charger and water pipe are absent from that standard list. Plan those separately if your setup needs them. Promotional bundles can change what ships, so compare the selected order with the standard kit. The Onyx photographs here show the actual black finish, including the side controls and rear USB-C connection.
Two ways to control the heat
The IQ3 offers four Smart Paths alongside manual temperature adjustment. Each Smart Path increases temperature during an eight-minute session; the published bands run from 350–370°F through 410–430°F. Precision mode lets you set a chosen temperature instead. That distinction matters more than the preset names: one follows a programmed progression, while the other gives you a fixed target.
DaVinci advertises a 30-second heat-up, but its device FAQ gives a 30–60-second range depending on the selected setting. Use that range when planning around the device. The vibration signal indicates readiness. We have not timed a physical IQ3, so the maker's figures should not be read as independent performance results.
The IQ3 owner's manual maps the three physical controls and their sequences. Five control-button clicks switch power on or off. It also documents Boost and Standby, brightness adjustment and Fahrenheit/Celsius switching. Learn the ordinary controls first; keeping the manual nearby is useful because different combinations operate different functions.
For comparing settings, change one variable at a time and note what you changed. Adjusting temperature, packing and airflow together makes the controls harder to understand. This is a practical way to learn the interface, not a promise about effects. The published temperature figures are hardware settings and do not establish a recommended amount of cannabis to consume.
Loading, airflow and the cooling assembly
The oven sits beneath the lower lid, with an adjustable zirconia Pearl acting as a spacer. DaVinci instructs users to pack dry herb firmly and adjust the Pearl for a smaller load. Its stated 0.7-gram capacity is a maximum capacity claim, not a required serving. Follow the model's loading instructions rather than transferring a loose-pack method from a different heater.
The Air Dial changes airflow and draw resistance. Its location on the lower lid separates that adjustment from the temperature buttons above. This gives you a physical control to evaluate alongside the electronic settings. Check the loading and clean air path before blaming a restricted draw entirely on the dial; several parts of the assembly influence the experience.
Cool Core sits inside the Flavor Chamber and forms part of the removable cooling path. Its practical ownership benefit is access: you can remove those components for the prescribed cleaning routine. DaVinci makes comparative cooling claims, but this profile does not substitute them for measured testing. The component's presence is verified; its performance with your particular setup remains untested here.
The included 10 mm adapter replaces the flat mouthpiece for a compatible water tool. Check the receiving joint size before assuming a rig fits. A 14 mm or 18 mm connection needs an appropriate separate interface, not force. Water-tool compatibility adds another configuration to manage; it does not mean the standard box contains a bubbler or that filtration establishes a health benefit.
Replaceable power, with a stock caveat
The removable battery is one of the IQ3's clearest distinctions. DaVinci specifies a 4000 mAh 21700 cell, up to 90 minutes of use and approximately three hours to charge. These are manufacturer estimates, with runtime depending on temperature preferences. A replaceable cell gives you another way to manage downtime, provided the correct spare is actually available.
That last condition matters right now. On October 21, 2026, the official IQ3 replacement-battery page marked the battery sold out. The device listing remained available with its included battery. Do not build a purchase plan around immediately adding a second official cell unless its availability changes. Replaceability and current replacement stock are separate questions.
Charging works through the device's USB-C port, and DaVinci documents an external charging option separately. Pass-through use is supported, although charging may pause for thermal protection. The manual specifies DaVinci's approved flat-top 21700 battery and protective storage for loose cells. An exposed spare rolling around with keys is not a sensible extension of the removable-battery feature.
Cleaning is part of the design
The IQ3's serviceable vapor path asks you to distinguish ceramic, silicone and powered components. The current cleaning instructions allow the removable mouthpiece, Cool Core, Flavor Chamber and water adapter to be soaked. Silicone gaskets and rings get wiped instead of a prolonged soak. Non-removable surfaces receive a swab, and the body must never be submerged.
DaVinci specifies 70% or stronger isopropyl alcohol for the applicable cleaning steps. Rinse the removable parts as directed and let them dry thoroughly before reassembly. The ceramic oven itself is not removable. Keep the manufacturer's component list open during the first deep clean, especially when distinguishing a small silicone seal from the ceramic part beside it.
A useful routine starts with a clear work surface and enough space to arrange the removed parts. Keep the small seals together and check their placement before closing the lid. Avoid turning routine maintenance into an improvised teardown of the electronics. The IQ3 suits someone willing to learn this assembly; a buyer seeking the fewest cleaning steps should weigh that commitment carefully.
Extracts, connected features and their limits
DaVinci describes the IQ3 as compatible with dry herb and extracts using its pod and extract-kit arrangement. The manual notes that extracts can leave heavier resin buildup. This is a specific accessory method, rather than permission to pour material into every opening. For the wider hardware distinction, our dry-herb vaporizer and e-rig comparison explains why material compatibility comes first.
Basic heating controls are documented on the device itself. DaVinci's current app support page describes its Connect Browser for iOS and Android, plus a desktop Chrome web app. Connected features include custom Smart Paths and session records. Check that current setup guidance against your own equipment if connected customization is a deciding factor; no phone pairing was tested for this profile.
The marketed dosage feature needs a clear boundary. DaVinci says its calculations depend on information entered by the user and on usage assumptions. They do not measure how much a person absorbs. Treat the display as an estimate within the device's software, not a laboratory result, medical recommendation or basis for a health claim.
Support, alternatives and the purchase decision
The current DaVinci warranty terms list ten years of limited coverage for the IQ3. They require an authorized purchase, proof of purchase and registration within 30 days. Coverage belongs to the original purchaser and has country restrictions. Accessories, normal battery degradation, wear and specified forms of damage are excluded; warranty service also leaves freight costs with the customer.
Save the invoice and device serial number together when the package arrives. A long coverage period is useful only within those actual terms. The direct-store return policy separately limits refunds to new, unopened or unused devices within fourteen days. Warranty repair and a change-of-mind return are different processes, so read both before opening the package.
Compared with High Rise's Cloudious9 Atomic9 profile, the IQ3 emphasizes replaceable power and adjustable controls over a compact six-preset interface. Our PAX PLUS guide offers another portable comparison, with kit-dependent concentrate capability and button-selected modes. Those pages offer context; this model-specific guide adds the exact Onyx offer, package details and maintenance responsibilities needed for a purchase decision.
Choose the IQ3 for features you expect to use: accessible power, an airflow dial and configurable heating. Budget space and attention for its removable parts, and resolve the pod discrepancy before relying on a particular capsule capacity. At the checked $299 device price, the strongest reason to buy is a match with your routine. The feature count alone cannot make that choice.
