11 Coffins is a hybrid from Planta, a Los Angeles flower brand started by two mixed-martial-arts fighters. Duke of Erb bred the population by crossing Coffin Candy with RS11.
The keeper started out as #178, the pick of a 400-seed phenotype hunt. It was one of Planta's very first releases and still sits on the brand's six-strain menu.

California Leaf told the selection story in its March 2026 flower roundup, written by Matt Jackson. Duke of Erb made the Coffin Candy × RS11 cross, and Planta popped 400 seeds to find a keeper.
On the James Loud podcast, Planta co-owner Derek said partner Freddie Bigg smoked every single pheno before the team chose one. The winner carried the number #178 before it took the 11 Coffins name.
The finished flower grows compact nugs with shades of purple and orange. California Leaf credits them with serious bag appeal. It describes a blend of sweet and funky gas that starts strong, then turns toward the sweeter side of RS11.
Two fighters and a six-strain rotation
Planta grew out of a friendship between two MMA fighters. The brand came out swinging with 11 Coffins as one of its first offerings and has since settled on six regular-rotation strains. California Leaf ranks 11 Coffins among the most praised of the six.
Planta says its mission is to grow exceptional flower in the heart of Los Angeles. It also aims to break down stigma around cannabis through education and community work.
Its menu lists the cross as RS11 × Coffin Candy, an indica-leaning hybrid with a Planta Exclusive tag. Two other exclusives sit beside it: Gelato 33 × Zkillato and an award-winning Runtz × Zkillato. The rest of the rotation covers Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint Cookies, South Florida OG × Gelato 41 and Lemon Tree × Gelato 41.
Coffin Candy, Duke of Erb's candy line
Coffin Candy gives 11 Coffins its Duke of Erb pedigree. It crosses Runtz with Strawberry Zkilato, and Strawberry Zkilato itself combines Zkittlez, Gelato 33 and 18 Coffins, all bred by Duke of Erb.
GrowDiaries credits Coffin Candy to Doja Seeds, with the strain crafted by Duke of Erb. It lists 56–63 days of flowering, a medium plant with sturdy branching, and dense, resin-packed flowers. Indoor yields run around 450 g/m², and average potency sits near 26% THC.
The RS-11 × Coffin Candy cross has also been sold to growers as regular seeds, in packs of 10 or more.
RS11, from Oakland to Wizard Trees
RS11, short for Rainbow Sherbet #11, is the other parent. Leafly lists it as Pink Guava from the OZ Kush project crossed with Sunset Sherbet. Deo Farms of Oakland bred it, the same breeder behind Zoap.
The Los Angeles brand Wizard Trees then selected RS-11 from the Deo Farms population, along with a sister cut called RS-54. Leafly lists Rainbow Sherbet #11 and RS-11 as alternate names for the same strain.
Leafly averages RS11 at 24% THC with a flowering time near 10 weeks. Its buds show lime green and space yellow hues. By 2023, Leafly notes, many cultivators across the US were growing it.
