Affogato is an indica from Maven Genetics, bred from Purple Chai × Sunset Sherbet and grown indoors in California. The name comes from the Italian dessert of espresso poured over gelato.
Maven has carried it well beyond the jar. Its Affogato live resin pod for Airgraft tested at 93.9% THC, with 2.34% CBG and 0.76% CBC listed alongside.
A cross built on Maven's own Purple Chai
Purple Chai is a Maven original. Leafly lists it as a Maven Genetics cross of Dosilato and Triangle Kush, a balanced hybrid averaging 30% THC. Reviewers call the flower gorgeous and very smooth, and they most often report euphoria, uplift and relaxation.
Triangle Kush links Purple Chai to one of the defining California families of the last decade. Leafly lists the same strain as a parent of Wedding Cake, next to Animal Mints. Affogato's first parent carries that Triangle Kush backbone into a new cross.
Sunset Sherbet on the other side
Sunset Sherbet comes from Mr. Sherbinski, who bred it to carry forward the Girl Scout Cookies line. Leafly lists it as Girl Scout Cookies × Pink Panties, an indica-dominant hybrid also sold as Sherbet and Sherbet OG.
Its buds grow oblong and fluffy, with rich trichome coverage and dark amber hairs. Caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene lead its terpene profile. Leafly describes full-body effects lifted by a jolt of cerebral energy.
The strain averages 18% THC on Leafly and holds a 4.5-star rating across more than 1,700 reviews. It also shows up in other notable crosses. Leafly traces RS11 to Pink Guava × Sunset Sherbet, bred by Deo Farms in Oakland. In Affogato, Maven used it as the Cookies half of the pairing.
From indoor flower to live resin
Maven grows Affogato indoors, and Flower Company has carried it as 14g bags of smalls. The listing files it as indoor indica flower, tags the effect as a body buzz and carries Maven's own description. It calls Affogato reminiscent of its namesake, with rich sweet cream and notes of chocolate.
GrowDiaries describes dense, trichome-stacked calyxes and tight internodes, the result of Maven's indoor cultivation and curing. It lists the strain at 36% THC with 0.05% CBD.
The Airgraft release moved the cultivar into concentrate form as a 1g live resin pod. Airgraft describes a cerebral rush that settles into a calm, euphoric state while keeping clear focus. The listing names relaxation, haziness and euphoria as the main effects.
Maven backs both formats with a seed-to-sale model. The company cites more than two decades of cultivation experience. Its home page lists flower, Maven Extracts concentrates, hand-rolled pre-rolls, vape cartridges and a seed division.
Parent to Ube Crème
Affogato also became breeding stock inside Maven's program. The company crossed it with Grape Cuvée to make Ube Crème, an indica that debuted in Maven's Spring 2023 Strain Collection.
Ube Crème grows deep purple buds with orange pistils under a thick frost of trichomes. It has tested at 32.2% THC and ships as indoor flower in 3.5g jars and as a 1g Gold Blend cartridge.
