The Cross
Maven Genetics documents Ube Crème as Affogato x Grape Cuvée and classifies the cross as indica. Affogato is Purple Chai x Sunset Sherbet, which is where the coffee-and-cream framing and part of the sweetness originate.
Grape Cuvée is MAC 1 x Granimals, an indica-dominant Maven selection that supplies the grape side, the deep pigment and structural weight. Neither parent is a candy-grape plant on its own, and the finished cross reflects that.
Maven's sequencing is the useful detail here. Before grinding, the flower is heavy, musky and herbal, with subtle fruit sitting underneath. Breaking it up brings those quieter fruit tones forward. This is not a loud candy strain straight out of the jar, and any listing that pitches it that way is overselling.
