Alien Mints is Alien Labs' entry into the Mints family, built with Seed Junky Genetics and coated in enough trichomes to look frosted rather than grown. Before you buy, know this: more than one product on the shelf answers to this name, and only one of them is the cross below.
Where It Comes From
Alien Labs launched out of Sacramento in 2014 under grower Ted Lidie, building its reputation on tightly controlled cultivation and hand-picked cuts rather than volume.
Seed Junky Genetics, founded the same year by JBeezy, supplied the other half of the cross and the dessert-gas lineages — Animal Mints, Wedding Cake, Kush Mints — that reshaped California menus through the back half of the 2010s. Alien Mints is one of the collaborations that came out of that partnership.
The Cross
This version is an Animal Mints backcross, written Animal Mints x Animal Mints — the line bred back into itself to lock in the parent's signature rather than introduce new traits. Animal Mints itself traces to Animal Cookies x SinMint Cookies, concentrating the resin production that also stands behind Wedding Cake and Kush Mints.
It is a finished-flower cultivar first. Alien Labs built its name on cuts like this rather than on seed releases, which is why provenance matters more here than a lineage string does.
Three Plants, One Name
Watch the label carefully. A cross of Alien Cookies x Kush Mints has circulated under the Alien Mints name, and so has an unrelated Alien OG x GSC pairing. Same words on the jar, entirely different plants.
The backcross described above is the one this profile covers. With three separate crosses sharing a name and only one of them tied to the Alien Labs and Seed Junky collaboration, the breeder credit on the package is the only thing that resolves which you are holding.
